We traded for Peralta back in 2015 for Adam Lind.. when he was a prospect. Lets trust the brewing process of this organization!

  1. Pretty funny that Mets fans don’t think so

Edit: this is not my analysis of the trade. I like the trade. I saw early comments from some Mets fans that liked it

  2. Using bbref WAR statistics, the Brewers had 7 players last year with 500+ plate appearances with those players respectively putting up the following:

    > 5.6, 3.9, 3.1, 3.0, 2.8, 2.2, 0.3

The top prospect the Brewers got in return in this trade is a 22 year old who will hopefully replace the majority of the plate appearances from the guy with the 0.3 WAR.

This seems like an under-commented-on fact. Trade from position of organizational strength to upgrade arguably the weakest position in the franchise + team control over the upgraded player.

  3. Think it’s a win win. Hopefully Jett can bump Ortiz sooner than later and I think we do have another solid young(ish) and controllable starter. Good luck to perralta

  4. this just seems like a good trade for both sides. both gave up a lot to get a lot. both deal from strengths to cover weaknesses.

as with all trades, especially centered on prospects, only a couple years’ time will tell though.
