Man.. we could’ve had for less I feel like. Not that I’m high on getting him but I’m not high on Jett or Sproat for that
Yankees were linked to him given numerous pitchers of theirs are out part of the first half of the season. Peralta would have been a season cheap option with him hitting free agency. Thus, Mets acquiring him instead is very good for us. Very good.
Yankees need to find a solution for their first half pitching problem
Gerrit Cole expected to return late May/June
Clark Schmidt expected to return second half of 2026

edit: Clarity and source
I honestly think we’re done adding pitching(starters). One impact bullpen arm and a solid to very good infielder should solidify this team..
However, MLB the show me wants Elly de la Cruz, for anything minus Roman and Early
Everyone mocked them for how their offseason started and now they’re shaping up to have one of the best ones. Would be nice to follow suit on that.
He’s a very good starter, but I’m content with our rotation.
Add paredas, Mayer to 2B and call it an offseason
Not a Yankee. Good for him
