  1. Petey sure is making the best out of fleecing the Canucks for $11.6 million per season!
    He takes time off whenever he wants to go public skating, and he trains harder than anyone in the NHL!!

  4. JP should be tried in court for grand larceny over ep40's 11.6m deal. Absolute robbery. EP40 should be paid to sit in the press box, no legacy, let him rot. May he go down as a long forgotten stain on this franchises history, like the stains in my boxers.

  5. Question is, does he not want trade talk because he has no interest in moving or does he not want his trade request to be a team distraction. Personally I dont think hes been that bad this year. Negative value sure but it wont look as bad in a year or two once salaries catch up.

  6. Just so we're clear. This is the car salesman that got 11.6 million for a car that had serious issues. JR / PA are the impatient buyers that didn't do their due diligence.

  8. Yeah. When I see a player like Pettersson, I see a guy who gave up a ton of cash for a no move clause if I squint really hard at the contract so I can't see the big numbers anymore. It was a terrible deal the moment it was done, like so many other Rutherford signings (including extending Rutherford).

  9. I was going to joke that JP Barry is probably on a beach in Florida enjoying the 11.6 million dollar Rip off petey contract. Turns out he is in fact, in Florida and has a place there. Enjoy JP Barry.

  13. I have to hand it to JP Barry. He's a great bullshit artist, but that's what a good agent is for. He negotiated the WORST contract in Canucks history, but definitely the best for Elias Petterson and JP Barry. A no-move, $11.6 million contract that pays Petey almost as much as Connor McDavid, for doing about 90% less. "Is Petey happy?" LOL what a joke. Why wouldn't he be? This guy is the most over-rated, over-paid player in the NHL. JP Barry says "I think he's trending back up" — the only response is BULLSHIT. Barry says Petey "is still a young player" — BULLSHIT. He will be 28 next season and not getting any better. He's currently way down at #143 on the Goals/Assists list with only 29 points. Petey will NOT crack 100 by the time the season is over. And I don't see any NHL team trading for him — WHY? Petey will be no better somewhere else, no matter who he plays with. So staying in Vancouver and collecting $11.6 million for the next few years and doing very little to justify it at all — is exactly what Petey is going to do.

  14. JP Barry represents the worst side of professional sports — negotiating grossly inflated, no-move contracts for players who don't deserve them. But when it comes down to it, it's the fault of Rutherford and Allvin for agreeing to it. In years to come, the Petey contract will go down as the worst mistake in Canucks history, and among the worst in NHL history.

  20. imo, Van would have to pay a team to take on EP40s contract. Something like EP40, plus a draft pick in the 17-50 range, and a 7th round going back cause something has to. What team would give up any roster player for EP40, and why ?
