5. I feel Hughes has made a lot of dumb moves but has also made some good/great like Matheson was a steal.Hughes looks to me like he has been over doing it just making moves because he is bored.
   "cost control" They grabbed a washed up Laine that nobody cared about until he landed in MTL.MSL would have to replace someone on the top 6 or else kadri would be a dumb move.Are they going to move Dach to the third line Newhook was playing great this season demote him to the third line?
   So if we are thinking the future then grabbing an aged kadrio right now seems like a real bad move.
   Mentioning Hage is again a good mention because scorers NEED..MUST play top 6 or they are wasted talent.
   MTL's need is VERY simple players that can protect the puck and imo better coaching I see way too many bad setups in the defensive zone like players coming back "fine" but they stand around spectating the puck NOBODY is looking around for incoming or open men.Then th edefense is far too soft in front and far too separated from players in the slot.

If was me I would 100% at the very least inquire about Marchenko because Columbus is not going to make the playoffs and will be frustrated and likely willing to listen to any offer.I can't trade hage not yet we need to see him in NHL action but I would easily offer reinbacher and a first round pick and anotehr minor impact player to get Marchenko.
   Obviously Roberrtson is the perfect player he can protect the puck but Dallas cannot trade their top 5 because they rely on them every single game they need a D yes but also better depth.

7. Kadri makes no sense what so ever !!! He is 35 yr's old, too expensive salary wise and the cost to trade for him are ridiculous when everyone know's that the team is not really ready to win yet. I could see a trade for Crosby more than Kadri because he could flip the needle to win now. And would also bring a more MSL type player to Montreal. Kadri would share the dog house with MSL very quickly beside Arber Xhejak.

8. I don't see Hughes being interested in Robertson considering the salary he will demand. Hughes has worked hard to create the team's current salary structure, he's not going to blow it up now for Robertson and his apparent $13M+ salary expectation IMO.

28. Sorry but why are you guys are always talking about aquiring players , yet the habs have too many players and they have no assets worth trading. With the habs cap situation and roster , they’ll have to get rid of 4 players to aquire 2. The habs aren’t trading Suzy , slaf or Amy of their decent prospects , so what do they have to offer? Reinbacher ? He’s not even on the nhl roster . If the habs want to make a trade to aquire a decent player , they’ll have to get rid of gallgher or Laine , there’s no way around it . But unfortunately to package gallagher or Laine in a package to aquire an impact player would cost a fortune.

    Let’s just say for the sake of story , that Montreal ants to aquire Kadri for example , than they either have to package Laine or Gallagher in that trade or make two separate trades where they would make room for Kadri or whoever they’re after , this would cost a fortune

    The focus should be put on getting rid of Gallagher for the good of the team now and next season.no other playoffs team would carry Gallagher at 6.5 , it is just stupid

33. There are numerous examples of teams trying to accelerate the process and failling (Rangers, Devils even Ottawa.) Stay the course, now is not the time to start emptying the cupboards or over paying. Lots of teams are supposedly in on Kadri, MTL is probably there by default. I also think it's in Gorton and Hughes' nature to be VERY proactive on the phones and calling around. I would be too if I had MTL's prospect depth.
