Could The New York Jets TRADE UP In The 2026 NFL Draft? | 16th To Top 10?

Could Darren Mougey and the New York Jets look to trade up in the 2026 NFL Draft from 16? There are a bunch of top end prospects that make sense for the Jets such as Caleb Downs, Jermod McCoy, Jeremiah Love, and Sonny Styles. As always..Go Jets!

  1. Trading up for a safety w the current state of the roster is insanity. No trading up, stack assets with more important positions. Hopefully FA fills that need and we can find another one in the draft. You draft a guy like Downs if you can afford to do so… If he falls to 16, fine. He won't fall that much.

  2. Reese & Downs, a dream come true, I agree with your thoughts 100%, and to be honest, I've always been a defensive guy. So a little bias.sorry I wanted to add I think the jets should grab Simpson some how some way, to me he's the one who's worth a shot, I think he's more developed then he's given credit for.

  3. We NEED a volume of good players 2 really good players at different positions is much better than 1 player even if he becomes a pro bowler

  4. They have so many holes I dont think moving up & giving up #44 will help since we gave our 3rd rd pick to eagles for that bum Riddick. Thanks alot JD for that dumb trade!

  5. Hey Ian. Do you think that Caleb Downs the safety from Ohio State University could be in play for us? What about Denzel Boston the wide receiver from the University of Washington? I actually like both these draft prospects.

  6. It's amazing how the narrative of the Jets have no talent on defense has risen in just 1 year. The DC put players in position to fail these same players were top 10 a year ago. Now we need edge and LBs ๐Ÿ˜ฎ the secondary was addressed last year along with LB. C'mon man get the DC, WR, and QB situated

  7. 16 and 44 to get back into the top 10.

Then use 33 to move back to the middle of the 2nd round and pick up a 3 and a 4.

Now you have 2, another top 10 pick and a 2/3/4/ and multiple 5s/6s/7s.

  8. Since I expect the jets to suck this coming year, I like the idea of drafting some players with high upside, but an injury. This way we can get some potentially great players while also not winning too many games to reduce our shot at a top 3 qb

  9. Ian. I'm truly blown away by the content on your channel. I really like at least a few wide receiver prospects like Carnell Tate from Ohio State University, even Denzel Boston from the University of Washington definitely should be in play for us if he is somehow available. I really like the wide receiver position as a whole. Garrett Wilson still lacks having a partner in crime aka a No. 2 wide receiver.

  10. 5:40 You know for certain Harbaugh will be thinking Downs at 5. He understands the importance of high-impact safety play. Giants already have the vital positions filled. Is there a Brian Branch-type safety to be had in round 2?

  11. Can't trade away 44 because it allows a lot of good players to be drafted before the Jets pick again in the 4th round. If you want to trade up then dangle a 2027 second round pick. I'm not crazy about trading up for a RB. Teams always seem to find good RBs in the mid rounds. If possible I would trade down from 2 to 5 or 6 to get Downs and more draft assets. I watched every OSU game this year and Reese sometimes disappears for stretches. It could be teams just run away from him but that quality bothers me.

  12. Interesting possibility. I would say the odds of it are lower as you will then have probably only 3 picks in the first two rounds rather than 4, and the Jets have holes to fill with those 4 picks. I would say, not probable, but possible.

  13. The four picks in the first 2 rounds/top 44 are 100% UNTOUCHABLE in my mind. This is a talent-deficient team that needs four top-50 prospects more than it needs a guy at 9 over 16 overall. Any trade up has to include either a roster player, or a few day 3 picks. They cannot cough up the chance at an extra starter with the 44th pick. They're not good enough to do that.

  14. This is just a proposal, and Iโ€™m not even sure it would be possible, but if the chiefs are looking to move down from 9, can we tag and trade Breece along with 16 to move up?

  15. Don't like the idea of trading up. Somehow the player you trade up for isn't as good as you would expect. Jets have traded up and experienced that several times. Jets should get some Dlinemen, safeties, LBers, Olinemen.

  16. I would be so happy if we draft Jeremiyah Love โค๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ’– โฃ๏ธ ๐Ÿ’• ๐Ÿ’˜..On the Love Train Baby…All Aboard!!!๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š

  17. I appreciate the creative thinking, but I don't think the Jets should trade away picks.
If quality drops after pick 60, then it benefits us that we dont have a 3rd rounder. I think we keep the picks.

  18. This is the move I want The Jets to make. Be aggressive and move up. Go get Downs or Love or Lemon. Address QB in FA, take a flyer in the mid rounds for a project QB and draft a better QB option next year.

  19. This draft is LACKLUSTER across the board. IF LV doesnโ€™t take Mendoza, I would FLEECE THE EFF out of Cleveland for their 2026 6th overall pick, their 2026 3rd round pick and their 2027 1st round pick. The Jets would come away with the 6th overall which would make picking ANY of Downs, Reese, Bailey or Bain, Jr. more palatable. Use the rest of the draft to stockpile the team with SOLID ROLEPLAYERS because thatโ€™s all youโ€™re likely to get out of this class as it is THAT UNDERWHELMING. In 2027, theyโ€™d have FOUR first round picks in a draft that is touted to be RIDDLED WITH TALENT.

Hereโ€™s the rub: itโ€™s been 15 years since the Jets were relevant. And rather than exercising a modicum of patience that is a FRACTION of the patience Jets fans have displayed over said 15 years, they want to blow their load like a 2 (not even 3) pump chump. That is infantile and idiotic.

  20. It wouldn't matter if the Jets had the first 32 picks; their trash coaching staff is going to ruin anyone they get, so "trading up" is a stupid waste of draft capital.
