  1. Braves had a good offseason. Much, much better than last year. But, for $260M payroll, it doesn’t feel like a bang for your buck talent wise roster.

  2. No. What? No. The Braves ACTUAL concerns coming into the off-season were bullpen and SS. SP was still uncertain until they knew more about guy's health. They got good reports on starter health. You have 3 top of the rotation arms in Sale, Strider and Schwellenbach. Really Lopez should be counted there too. There's an assumption he will be worse than he was in 2023. Probably true, but not necessarily. Even if he regressed a whole run in ERA he would be elite. He, and Waldrep are solid mid-rotation arms. That's a whole 1-5 right there of JUST guys I would be happy to give a postseason start. Holmes and Elder are perfectly capable back of the rotation arms. Fuentes, Ritchie, Dodd and Kinley are all possible depth options and guys who can take ocassional starts to rest your SEVEN good arms. Iglesias, Suarez and Lee are statistically the best 1-2-3 in any bullpen in MLB and it's not particularly close. If Jiminez were able to return to form by October that's a postseason bullpen that puts the "night shift" to shame. You have veteran MLB players at every spot in the lineup, all of whom can carry a team with their bats when they are on save Dubón who may not be a superstar, but he's a clear upgrade over Allen.
I don't care anymore about the doomsayers. If anyone thinks this team isn't good enough your opinion is objectively wrong, which is hard to do, so congratulations I guess.

  3. Bro what do you mean? You were super big about Chris Bassett possibly being a big signing for Atlanta in several vids ago and now you’re saying that Chris Bassett that it’s a move that it might not be enough ? Like I love listening to these pods but you switch up all the time

  4. Jake I can't agree enough with you!! In order to compete, if competition raises the bar to compete, you gotta raise the bar.. I don't think just Mets.. right now we are fighting for last wild card spot. Not enough!!

  5. I don’t know who ALL the fans are but I’m not mad at the moves the Braves have done or the Mets! The Mets pitching staff is horrible, lost multiple starters from last yr including Alonso and Nimmo, always fall apart, lost best closer in baseball, Peralta cost the Mets Acuna who had infield starting exp and major league exp, Robert’s hasn’t been an AS level player in a FEW years, and again the Mets always Met! What upsets me is teams like the Brewers who are so cheap they sell players instead of paying them and the Dodgers who just write a check and take whoever they want or need

  6. Another club doing better doesn't mean the Braves haven;t had a good off season. It just means need to match and then up the ante to stay in the game. A starting pitcher is a must now. Not just someone to fill a rotation spot, but someone to fill that #2 slot at the very least. However, the Braves don't have much to trade with. The organization is still feeling the pain of the John Coppolella debacle.

  7. For me addressing the Bullpen was big. Kim was a overpay but not bad. The bench got upgraded. We know the Braves won't compete with the Mets or Dodgers in salary. So I'm not sure what people expect.
