[Charlie O’Connor] Looks like Grebenkin actually may be the one to take a seat out of the 4th liners. He’s still on the ice with the rest of the presumed scratches.

  1. I never want to hear the word “accountability” again.

Even if you ignore Hathaway’s giveaway the other night he still shouldn’t be playing.

  2. Grebs should watch Hath from the press box to learn what culture is. Then maybe he can stick.

  3. Toxic Rick and that pesky accountability!!!! Guess that only applies to the Russian kid? Team is a 🤡 show

  4. Yeah, bench the kid for the vet with one point all season. Who made what will probably be the worst mistake of the season and gets away with zero “Accountability”. I wasn’t immediately on the whole Tocc being the wrong hire train. Being willing to at least give him the benefit of the doubt but nope. Get rid of him sooner rather than later.

  5. Punishing Grebenkin for making a good play to get the puck to Hathaway who wouldn’t shoot it. Real accountability!

  6. “Best way for guys to develop is to sit in the stands or on the bench” – Flyers

“Whut?” – Literally every other team

  7. 5 year contract baby wooooo!!!!! Everyone say thank you Rick for another excellent roster decision

  8. Grebenkin is one of the most talented young players on the team and deserves a chance. Does tocchet remember how good the 4th line looked without hath?

  9. I’ve been super lenient on Tocc but c’mon man. Even if it is just for one game Hathaway HAS to sit this one out. Lost them the effing game

  10. You have got to be kidding me. Grebenkin and Grundstrom as the wings on the 4th line was our best version of it. Wow…

  11. At least we know for sure now that Tocchet doesn’t care about having the best team or the players that have earned it out there

  12. This is like in the movies, when the villain says to his lieutenant, “you have failed me for the LAST TIME” and then turns and shoots some random underling.

  13. If Hathaway gets another chance at an empty net goal, he can do the funniest thing of all time.

  14. Grebenkin is clearly a player that will be a part of our future even if he’s just a 4th liner. Not playing him is delusional at this point

  15. I don’t think there’s anything Grebenkin could do to get consistent playtime. He’s got great hustle, he grinds out decent plays pretty often, and he’s not afraid to fight. In theory, Tocchet should love him – but next season he should try to become mid-thirties and American to really seal the deal.

  16. After thinking about it it honestly looks like Tocchet isn’t scratching Hathaway in order to not negatively affect the room which is hilarious considering all the culture bullshit that has been talked about. That or Tocchet just likes Hathaway more and/or dislikes Russians. What other reason could it be? Hathaway sucks and Grebenkin is much better than him.

  17. Preaches accountability but it only applies to young russians. His ‘system’ is utter garbage and limits skilled and creative players, while seemingly benefiting no one but ‘grit’ guys. Couldn’t even remotely care about player development and how to do what’s best for the long-term, it’s all about now and making the playoffs where the ceiling is a first-round exit.

Such a painfully boring hire and I’m already completely done with this guy six months into a five-year tenure. Three things are certain in life: death, taxes and that the Flyers are gonna Flyer. It’s like clockwork.

  18. Do any writers ever question Tochet’s thought process? Like this just doesn’t make sense.

  19. What’s with Tocc and hating Russian players. Just wait until we see a headline saying “Matvei Michkov sits this one out”.
