Firing the coach and not the GM to me speaks to the lazyness of the owner. If you fire a coach and retain the GM. The GM continues to do ALL the work and the owner can sit bacm comfy and be the final decision maker. If you fire the GM AND the coach the owner has to do A LOT of the work. Thats why these billionaire owners are now hiring presidents and VPs on top of the GM. They want to focus on their main businesses that made them rich in the first place and not their sports teams.
