Shockingly, Brady did not announce that Raiders would be selecting Mendoza with the first overall pick, but he did say “he’s got a bright future.”

Raiders are going to select Mendoza.. but obviously Brady has to be careful with his wording here. Bottomline hearing Brady speak here and then hearing the way Mendoza conducts himself and cant help but to notice the glaring mental similarities. Yes football is a very physical sport, but the mental aspects of it all, the mindset that you have should not be overlooked. Mendoza has shown a mindset that far exceeds his age. That right there sets him apart miles above the rest. No branier pick.. we got ourselves a bright FUTURE
Very careful wording by Brady as mentioned. Even had to have an entire reasoning unrelated to the raiders for why he was at the game and why he was on the field. Didn’t mention being spotted with Davis and Spytek. Also didn’t actually answer the question and tied his answer to applying to all prospects.

I don’t think it’s very shocking. It would be shocking if he DID come out and say “Oh, yeah, we’re drafting him no question about it”. Everybody in the world can know we’re drafting the kid but the league gets pissed if a team comes out and says it early. They’ll drag it out to draft night.

At first glance, the Tom Brady sound bite on Fernando Mendoza today felt generically Brady-esque.
But with just six words mixed into his minute-48 answer, Brady actually said quite a bit.
“ARE YOU OBSESSED WITH YOUR JOB?”
If that’s the bar Brady is setting for the Raiders , we’ll either have a 12-man roster next year or win the Super Bowl.
