He’s our #1 but would clear up so much cap and probably get a load in exchange. Personally I’m not decided yet but the front office prob gonna keep him anyways.

  1. Should have cancelled his 45 million and sent him packing he’s a number two at best. Rodgers didn’t even want to throw him the ball after a couple of easy drops.

  2. He had a good but not great season with us. I think the better value play is to keep him.

  3. No we need someone alongside him preferably a route runner to take some pressure off and let dk get one on one with CBs for deep balls

  4. Would love to see what he is capable of with under the new staff and with a few competent WRs at his side

  5. it’s only 7m savings to trade him pre-draft with 24m dead cap, and we’d get less than the 2nd it took to get him, and then you have zero WRs. no thanks

post june 1 trade is a lot of ’26 savings but 18m dead cap in ’27 so it’s pointless, you’d just cut/trade him next year for the same ’27 dead cap but actual savings in 27. we have plenty of space and plenty of other contracts to move on from

  6. No? We traded and signed a deal with him for a reason. I won’t just judge it by one season since the system we ran last season just did not maximize the personnel we have. We kept trying to run and be conversative. While we had some decent games, I don’t feel either Rodgers or DK was in rhythm in Arthur Smith’s offense. Both of them had one of their worst seasons of their career if not the worst.

  7. “Get a load in exchange”

He is the 4th highest paid WR but 28th in rec yards and 26th in rec TDs. No one is calling for him. We are stuck with this bad contract.

  8. Are his coaches and teammates convinced he’s learned a lesson from his recent suspension, has matured and won’t fly off the handle again at provocateurs? Because he’s likely to be subjected to more fans’ attempts to get his goat in the future.

  9. Having just one receiver isn’t a good strategy unless he’s one of one. As good as DK is he’s no Calvin Johnson so I hope we stress getting a second receiver to pair with him, and I don’t mean another Calvin Austin.

  10. Would be pretty stupid to cut him or even trade him with all the dead money we would incur. Our offense had major issues all year in the passing game and he was the only NFL caliber receiver we had, our second best receiver was a RB.

  11. This isn’t Madden. No one is giving up anything of value for that contract and the dead money hit to release him in the 2nd year of a 4 year extension is brutal.

  12. It’s kind of a moot point, at least for 2026. HIs contract has way too much dead-weight money, and we’d still need someone to replace him. The only thing to do with him really is put him with two legitimate other receivers and see if an offense that makes sense can get more out of him. I expect him to probably have a much better year in 2026 if things are done remotely well, but still cost way more than his performance is worth. By the t ime we figure that out, though, it’ll be possible to trade or release him.

  13. Seattle getting rid of DK was a smart move. But they had JSN waiting in the wings. Thankfully the Steelers drafted Broderick Jones over JSN in 2023 so we wouldn’t have the same problem.

  14. I wasn’t very thrilled by what I saw from DK.. he seems to give up on balls he should be able to catch at times, drops easy passes and seems very nonchalant when out there in the huddle and running his routes.. I can say with all confidence that he is not a #1 based on what I saw last season.. He needs someone who is more crafty and able to split defenders along side of him so he can be more effective..

  15. No. He drops critical passes. We need a no1 wr that doesn’t drop. We can get this in draft. We have proven this many times. Trade him for a 3rd round pick

  16. Brother if they got rid of DK their WR room would be Roman Wilson and Ben Skowronek.

    So, no.

  17. I think he could be significantly better with a good young QB that targets him more, and another decent WR threat to take some of the pressure and double teams off of him. Sure he had some bad drops and mistakes, but he also had games where he played great when he was the primary target and heavily utilized.

  18. We should pay me $1 Million a season of his contract money to kick him in the nuts every time he does something stupid.

  19. This is a stupid question.
DK is fine, he has had an issue with that Detroit asshole since way back with Seattle.
That one instance is the only negative he showed me all year in terms of character.
    Rodgers was not great.
He was still leagues above Wilson and Fields, but he was over and under throwing guys all year. DK should be a large factor in our rebuild

  20. Oh fuck no. He’s an absolute beast. The quarterback just needs a little more time and there was no true wide receiver on the opposite side of the ball. Bring in a good wr, make Roman Wilson the slot receiver, and build upon o line and d line thru free agency and the draft.

  21. Bro the offense the two games DK was out for that little incident was so horrendously anorexic I couldn’t even watch 😭🤣

  22. We cant afford to be moving off of another WR1. We already need to draft one early, we cant realistically move him

  23. We should have kept Pickens. But we shouldn’t get rid of Metcalf until we have two replacements.

  24. My main concerns is his longevity especially with his sugar and coffee diet. That is not sustainable. It will eventually catch up to him.

  25. Sure. Everyone goes. Remember when Chuck Noll came in and told the team right off the bat, “The problem is you’re just not good enough. You know, you can’t run fast enough, you can’t jump high enough, you’re not quick enough. You’re techniques are just abysmal.  I’m probably going to have to get rid of most of you…and we’re going to move on.” That’s what we need. 4 guys made it out of that room to the first Super Bowl win.

  26. In broad scope, the Steelers are going to be in rebuilding mode. That means dumping as much big salary as possible. It’s going to take a couple of years to restock with young guys and build the team, but better to do it now than keep dragging along in the current modus operandi – just good enough to be decent, not good enough to go far in the playoffs.

  27. I know he voided his guarantees with being a dipshit, does that give us any leverage on the contract?

  28. No. We’re already short handed on WRs as it is. We need a bonafide #1 whether we trade for one, sign a FA or draft one. We’re stuck with the contract for now, but im sure his low production was because of the style of offense he was in. There was no other scary threat to draw attention away from DK. His best days are behind him but with the right offense and pieces around him he can still be very productive.

  29. He signed a 5 year deal. He’s not going anywhere.

Any incoming HC will see use for his talents and build with it. If attitude is still a problem then sure

  30. Should’ve never paid DK to come into our organization and become a slightly higher effort Pickens with worse hands.

We could’ve had Davante Adams reunite with Aaron Rodgers plus cooper Kupp (combined for like half the price of Metcalf), and kept Pickens around for cheap.

And there was no need to bring in Jonnu “what’s the play?” Smith.

  31. He’s still a threat even if he’s not an all-Star. They’ll need to keep him covered and that’ll give room for us to develop a WR2.
