  1. Got the worst of the Grant experience tonight. Scoring 12 points in the 1st quarter didn’t help either. Oh well, on to the next one.

  2. This is first time this year the Blazers have played a back to back and really looked like it. Dudes just looked gassed.

Still .500, on to the next!

  3. Before haters pump up – Grant takes time to adgust to a new playstyle. Say what you want but keep that in mind – He was out for like 6 weeks and when he came back he needs to readjust without Deni gives him the ball like 500 times each game. ANY PLAYER WOULD STRUGGLE. Jrue was out too but Jrue is a point guard!

  4. Big thing that I think Sharpe could do better is getting to the line. I’m all for ethical buckets, but easy points at the line are so impactful

  5. Tbf I don’t think anyone was anticipating a win when they announced the injury changes, but man that was a messy game.

  6. Really missed Deni tonight. Portland needed another scorer to take any kind of lead and keep it or keep pace with Toronto. Rob too because the lack of another big that could switch was very evident. There were also a ton of good looks that just didn’t go in, as well as some fortunate luck for the Raptors who had a lot of low percentage shots rim in all night. It was on a back to back too. Not an ideal scenario. But they did make a comeback at a certain point and even had a lead in the third. So it’s not all trash. But they definitely need to play better than this to make the play in let alone the playoffs.

  7. We missed Rob a lot tonight

DC suffering when guarding mobile centers and his offense was terrible tonight against a good matchup

  8. I feel like if we shot over 30%, we would have e had a shot. I think our record is really good when we shoot below league average but above 30%.

Oh well. Can’t win them all. On to the next one.

  9. We really need to get another reliable backup center. Rob Will is great but can’t play B2Bs. Yang and Reath are unplayable.

  10. The raptors are good. The boys played hard on a back to back without Deni and RW. It was nice to see Jrue looking like he was shaking the rust off and flowing there for a bit.

  11. I think we would have taken this game had Rob Will been available. A better matchup against Mamukelashvili and would have given us a much needed offensive option at the rim. With Yang as far away as he is, we’re looking a little too thin at center during these back to backs.

  12. We are still 9-3 for the month so far, with three road games to go. One is the Wizards, that’s a gimme game. If we win one of either Boston or New York, we’ll almost maintain our .750 month!

  13. He’s probably my favorite player on the team, but felt like tonight was a pretty common theme for DC this season, where his offensive rebounding literally kept us in the game and was the most important reason why we stayed competitive (which is why he had the only +/- not in the negatives) but his defense has been pretty confusingly underwhelming. He was so consistently dominating on the defensive side last season, and has been really inconsistent no matter the matchup this season. I feel like he’s doing everything he can not to foul, which he’s definitely succeeding at, given that he averaged 5.1 fouls per 36 last season, down to 3.1 fouls per 36 this season, but it feels like he’s so much less aggressive on contests this season. His opponent field goal percentage within 5 feet of the rim has gone up from 59% last season to 65%, going from the best on the team to one of the worst. He’s jumping so much less now on contests, feels like he’s so timid in order to not foul. Makes me excited though, because his offensive rebounding has made him arguably our 2nd most important offensive player, just need him to figure out how to balance not fouling and successfully contesting, since we know he can be one of the best defensive bigs in the league. Once he does that, he’s going to be elite.

  14. Ingram was making tough shots in the half court and Barnes is a fuckin beast man. Hard to win with no center depth on a B2B. Shaedon couldn’t buy a whistle tonight, but he needs to learn how to use the PnR better to get separation when the dribble isn’t doing it.

JG looks rusty, but Jrue looked better. On to the next.

  15. Hard to win without your best player. Guys was playing hard and that’s all you can ask for. Keep close to end of third quarter but I think the team just ran out of gas.
