Laine needs to be on the first line with Suzuki and Caufield! He was injured and playing better than Dach ffs!
They got slapped around by a bigger buffalo team last night. Where was Xhekaj, he needs more ice time. Can’t get rid of Anderson, he was the only one to stand up in the playoffs last year. Give him a try on the first line.
Honestly, Anderson is a big part of the teams size n speed, but i believe Florian could step into his role.. florian is left wing tho
they a need a goalie in a trade good one
Darren Dreger on Gagnots comments on Laine trade : The possibility of Patrik Laine being traded seems quite low. The contract is not the issue, it's the injury history. Can happen if some PP player gets injured on another team contending or part of a must buy-in for a larger deal. But right now, very low chances.
Laine is a conundrum. Kent is probably trying his best, but Laine's 10 team NMC is probably making it tricky, Laine has made it clear he will not move to a rebuilding team. So, it needs to be a team that is at least in the same position as Habs i.e. playoff bound, but have big need for a winger in PP and Top 6.
Do you guys also own Leafs Digest?
Haha. Jesse: “having Patrick Laine as a game changer in the playoffs”. You mean the Patrick Laine who was a healthy scratch last year in the playoffs? Who scored most of his goals on the PP in December 2024? Let the dream die, man. He’s a defensive liability, doesn’t use his size, is so slow compared to everyone else, and the one thing he could do originally he couldn’t even do consistently. I wouldn’t pay to move him but this guy is not the answer.
5th time's the charm, as they say! (Laine)
I get it, yayyyy let's be hopeful, last chance for reals for reals this time.
Gallagher has been playing great games recently.
I hope they don’t trade Anderson. We are small team as is,he can help a lot .P.Laine’s contract is up this year,I think,no reason to trade him for nothing.Dach is on the end of his contract too and I wouldn’t offer extension.Talented player but unfortunately always injured.I still hope that they will look into buying a player for second line that can play with Demidov. Its a shame to waste such a talent that Demidov has.I wish he had more minutes.Slaf. should be back playing with Cole and Suzuki. He is wasting too many packs on the second line.Excellent player but not a centre or the player who organizes the offence.Perfect with Cole and Suzuki.
Kent will do like he did whit Monahan sing P Laine 1 year 1million to trade and get something back
Bring back xhekaj
We need Anderson vs guys like Tom Wilson especially in the playoffs.
Who’s going to punish the opposition defenders if Anderson is moved. He’s a playoff player. Get there and he will prove his worth.
What they need is team players, Laine is not one of them. I'm running out of patience for Dobson also…definitely on the hook for the Sabres short handed goal, he gives the puck away, blind passes, long passes that fail, slow to come back to D zone, he's def not playing for 9m$.
Francois Gagnon is the worst. He makes stuff up to cause controversy so he can be in the middle of it. The media landscape around the Habs would be so much healthier if he wasn't a part of it. Never take anything he says seriously. He is a bottom feeder with no talent other than getting other people to talk about his bs.
I'm not trading Josh A, Unless it is in a deal for a 2nd line center or 1st line winger because Josh has size and speed with 11 goals so far. Wed are still way to small. thanks Kevin
We have been top 5 offence for most of the season and bottom 5 defence. Why is the trade talk only about adding scoring and not about adding defensive forwards or dmen?
You keep Anderson as he’s the type of playoff contributor that you need more of. If you retain salary for Laine I think you can move him without giving up an asset but you’re not getting a lot in return.
Patrick to first PP!
Could Evans and Dach and Laine be a fourth line of value against pluggers on other teams. Could be a huge scoring and skill mismatch? .
Laine could be buried in the minors, no?
Nah. It’s expiring. No need to take any loss.
Get him on the fourth line either Dach and Evans. See what there is. And both on pp2. To get value from contracts.
We need Anderson. A player of that type is hard to replace. A figure skater will not do
The way Josh played last year vs the caps during playoffs makes me want to keep him around
I wouldn't move Laine to be honest. Good article by Basu & Godin today. Trading Laine after he has been on the shelf for awhile would be a slap in the face to him, and all players around the league. Makes a bad precedence.
Besides. If you choice is Veleno or Laine. Laine has far more offensive upside.
3rd line of Laine Danault Gallagher would work pretty well IMHO and put Laine on PP2
4th line of Bolduc Evans Anderson
Keep Anderson, trade Bolduc, and Dach does not have skill set for lines 1 or 2 , Monty is a real problem for use and he is not dependable,. Patrick Laine needs to go
I would do that to get rid of Laine in a heartbeat, because if he gets hurt past the trade deadline then we are screwed and he has a history of injuries
Habs have too many d-men and still defense that sucks. Trade 2 d-men, still a lot to play with and no harm
About trading Kirby i do believe he will come back to really good form just give it a time. On other side i feel he will never be a player whom you can play on long term because he is injury prone and you never know again when he gets injured and is out for longer time. So trading would make sense from habs side but who would be interested in such player who will play half of season?
