  1. Looking forward to continuing to watch Randy develop. Took a big step forward last year, why not continue on that trajectory?

  2. I remember when he pitched in the last regular season game of the year and started throwing 98mph sinkers out of nowhere, that’s when I knew he was gonna take a big step forward

  3. Tale of two halves. Was truly one of the worst pitchers in baseball in the first half with his K-BB being negative and some truly outrageous luck, but in the second half he started to look like an actual backend starter and his numbers started to shape out more reasonably.

Hope he continues on the path and becomes an arm we can rely on longterm.

  4. I used to be nervous about Vasquez, but he earned the nickname Strandy, and so long as he continues to improve, I’m okay with the occasional hit since his track record says there’s a good chance they aren’t making it home.

  5. Randy straight up competes every time he goes out there. He may not have the hottest stuff, but he beats the metrics with elite grit and character.

  6. I feel like this dude gets a terrible rap from our fans. He goes out there and absolutely shoves every start. I don’t remember a single game where he got the doors blown off of him and we didn’t have a chance to win. Without looking, I feel like the majority of his losses were the offense not managing to score more than 1-2 runs.

I trust him a lot to be a starter for this team

  7. Padres roster review: the only thing this team has done this offseason is resign King and Sheets and exercise the option of Laureano and add a basketball team’s worth of coaches. This roster is abysmal and the fact that there’s a deep dive into Randy Vasquez is proof positive of that fact. The MLB network literally JUST made fun of the Padres lacking offseason.

  8. Vasquez is like that one friend who always carries the group on his shoulders and yet is massively unappreciated

    He’s the V
