What does everyone think of bringing back Seranthony for some additional bullpen help. He was one of our best high leverage guys last season. Yes he gave up some big hits in the post season but I still think there’s some upside. His walk rate isn’t great but his other metrics are still good.

  1. he’s got the best stuff left available on the market, I think we need to get him

  2. Can’t have too many bullpen arms. If they got him I’d be happy, but not going to be upset if they don’t. Our pitching staff if much better than last year overall even without him.

  3. Man, that walk percentage is ugly. Can’t argue with the rest of it though, dude is nails.

  4. Right now, we have Hoffman, Yimi, Rogers, Varland, Little, and Nance.
    – Lauer slots in there somewhere too I would imagine.

There’s still room for 1-2 high-end relievers. Seranthony falls in that category, wouldn’t be opposed at all to re-signing him

  5. I’m on the Seranthony train right with you. His walk rate didn’t stop the Jays from acquiring him in July. Did they thought they could fix it? Either way, his stuff makes him useful – bring him back.

  6. Sign him back. At this point he’s looking at a deal under $10m a season

    CL – Hoffman

    SU – Rogers

    SU – Varland

    MR – Little

    MR – Fluharty

    MR – Dominguez

    MR – Garcia

    LR – Lauer

That’s one hell of a bullpen. Plus you have Nance, Brock, and others in the wings

Edit: he just signed with the White Sox for 2/20

  7. I really don’t understand how he is still on the market. I have to assume he’s asking for a ton, but having him as a 6-8th inning guy makes our bullpen look a lot better so I want us to pick him up.

  8. I don’t mind bringing him back. He’d be a better than average low leverage guy, and if he can lower the walk rate, a really excellent high leverage

  9. There is a new Dominguez every year! Hard-throwing relievers with some red flags are very common, but ultimately they’re cheap to acquire at the deadline. The jays in recent seasons have been fine with letting that type get paid by someone else.

  10. He was good they should bring him back. Some control issues (which would be scary af for hitters when he’s throwing 100mph) but def a good bullpen arm

  11. Yet another pooch screwed by Ross Atkins by letting Dominguez go to the White Sox of all dumpster fires.

  12. Wouldn’t you rather slot 10 million plus for a reliever at the trade deadline who actually has command?

  13. 7 saves for a 50 win team incoming….

Let’s home Yimi is back healthy and injury free, fingers crossed 🤞🏿
