Let’s say the 2021 pick is used on Grimes or Herb Jones or Cam Thomas.
AC is most likely kept and Dennis is most likely retained in 2021 if he was apart of a title team. Winning is usually the cure for everything and I imagine the FO would’ve had a better relationship with Dennis if they won it all.
Drummond is most likely kept for cheap in summer 2021.
Hard to say what happens in 2021-22 season and beyond as this timeline doesn’t guarantee that Rob still refuses to invest in the center position which became a huge issue from 2021 onward.
If every player in the league is healthy in this hypothetical, then I think we have a decent shot of winning it all in 2021. Beating the Nets would certainly be challenging though. It’s hard to predict beyond that

If they’re two time defending champs they probably don’t do the Westbrook trade, but those role players were still gonna hit free agency eventually, its been really hard for defending champs to keep their rosters intact this decade (especially once that CBA in 2023 hit)

I see us making fewer trades and keeping the team together if we 2-peat which opens the door for more chips. We don’t have D-Lo, Westbrook if we don’t feel the need to blow up the team after losing those couple seasons in a row due to injuries.
Those 2020 and ’21 teams probably could have gotten us another chip at some point between 2021-2024.

They were the best team in the league in ‘21 when LeBron got hurt… when he came back just in time for the Playoffs…they jump to a 2-1 lead on Phoenix and then AD got hurt. I think they have a tremendous chance to win it all in ‘21 if they are both healthy. If they win it then they aren’t chasing Westbrook and breaking up the team that fit LBJ and AD the best…

It’s a weird hypothetical, because one or both of them was absent for large stretches during a span of years.
It’s not as if we were super close to winning another ring, but then AD/Bron went down at an untimely moment (e.g. consider how the Raptors beat GSW in the Finals due to injuries).
Instead, we never really got to see what a post 2020 squad led by Bron and AD could do. Also, do all the other teams get to be healthy and at full strength in this hypothetical? **If so, I don’t think we get another ring. We weren’t close enough. There’s just not enough evidence to say our roster was “close.” But there is evidence to argue our rosters were “bad” and lacked cohesion.**
