This is without a top 5 shooter of all time in dame. Next year will be a movie.

  1. Not really sure it’s crazy that the worst 3 point shooting team in the league has a good record when they shoot well lol

We’re literally dead last in %

  2. I’m sorry but this is just a dumb take to me. So if they shoot the 3 well, most chances are they win. Nice. Problems is we ain’t shooting the 3 well. At all. Actually, we are dead last on the league in 3pt percentage.

It shows that it’s basically a miracle we’re 0.500 in today’s NBA and that we’re probably going to get curb stomped in a playoff series where the paint is more closed and the whistle is less frequent, much more than it’s a testament to Croning’s genius

  3. I love seeing us right there with Houston, someone went off on me before the season when I said Portland wouldn’t be far behind Houston (talking 7-8 games in the loss column.) interesting to see us shooting well when we all say we need to add shooting around Deni

  4. To every dumbass in here saying this is meaningless because we’re a bad 3pt shooting team:

Yes, that often happens when your best 3pt shooters (Jrue, JG, Tisse, Dame) miss extended time to injuries. Also, Sharpe was shooting terribly to start the year due to a calf injury, which he’s now recovered from and shooting *way* better in the last month.

We’re improving from deep as the season goes on and guys get healthy, and as that happens we’re winning more games.

Almost like it’s not meaningless at all.

  5. ok but here’s the record for those teams in all of their other games. i dunno if this is a flex, says to me that we can’t win without a hot 3pt night.

    OKC 13-5
    DET 11-7
    SAS 7-8
    BOS 5-9
    **POR 5-16**
    HOU 5-9

  6. What would y’all think about trading Thybulle plus the picks we got to trade down from 11 last year to get a shooter

  7. Kind of funny how this roster ended up being perfect for dame next year. We need a high percentage 3 pt shooter with playmaking skill badly.

  8. I think this is actually kind of telling of our ceiling, when healthy.

Look at the teams we’re grouped with when we shoot a pedestrian 33%…they are all the elite teams this year (except for no Denver). When we can shoot a pedestrian 33%, we are in elite company as a team.

  9. Yeah, I think it is potentially a really interesting and insightful stat. I agree that every other team on that list is a contender. I think it’s also no coincidence that every team on that list is elite defensively.

But it also could be one of those “here’s how good we could be if we just weren’t us” stats. Like, at the end of the day, it’s not a big surprise that we’re a bad three point shooting team. We don’t have good three point shooting.

You can see if some guys are underperforming, which you could argue yeah maybe shaedon is. Jrue back will help for sure. But some may still regress. Then throw scoot in there and who knows what that does. Maybe he sets guys up better than Deni, but maybe he also brings down the average with his shooting.

Also, dame is just way too much of a wild card. We don’t know anything about his ability to contribute or effect on the offense.
