There are actually a lot of candidates I would like. Just not Vance Joseph please.
I can’t even say any of the candidates would be good with cardinals. It’s just a shit hole franchise that I just don’t find anyone succeeding here.
Mmmm, he’s almost as hot as his brother in Green Bay! He would be a good “top” choice for me too 😉
I think I’m on the Campanile train. Has coached both sides of the ball, drastically improved Jags D in a year, strong personality in a good way.
Him or campanile for me both candidates are a year or two away from getting HC jobs and with how bad this teams reputation is we have to take a shot on these guys early
I support hiring two coaches. One for offense one for defense.
Your gunna get a discount nobody sold as someone special and your gunna like it. Period. – Michael Bidwell
I dont wanna hear any Italy talk with gambo every damn day. So im with you on LaFleur.
Na, I want a veteran HC.
Mike McCarthy, Sean McDermott, Tomlin even tho I haven’t heard from him since he got fired
The cardinals won’t have success with a first timer
I’m with you and I could not agree more. Contrary to popular belief we have a ton of young offensively (and defensively for that matter) we just need a coach who can put it all together, utilizing ALL of his weapons and who can win schematically, all things Drew Petzing could never do.
I think a creative young bright offensive minded HC from McVays system as gifted as Mike LaFluer could come in and instantly turn this offense around into a top 10 offense next season with just a few changes. A guy like LaFluer could come in and draft a big mauling elite blue-chip LT/RT prospect like 6”6-320lb powerful athletic OT Francis Mauigoa as our RT across from young elite top 5 OT who was leading in Pro Bowl voting in a 1st/2nd team All-Pro caliber season before spraining his knee in 6”6-330lb LT Paris Johnson Jr. AZ has an uber athletic mauling top-10 Center in H. Froholdt and multiple talented young OGs starting with powerful mauling 6”5-325lb RB Isaiah Adams who improved significantly over the final 12 games, 6”4-320lb elite athlete LG Jon Gaines was very solid at LG and will only improve and get better n better. Thrown into the fire at LT going into week 18 Rams game UDFA LT/G 6”5-325 Josh Fryar had PFF Run/Pass blocking grades of 62.5/62.5 going into that game same grade as PJJ his rookie year and Fryar isn’t an NFL LT he will be an OG in the NFL and could be a stud LG next season if he wins job next to RG Adams. Rookie 320lb 6”5 OG Connor Hayden who was extremely experienced with 45+ total starts as the best pass-blocking LG in SEC out Univ of Texas Connor looked very good very technically sound in game he started with a 65.9 PFF Grade and could be a factor at LG at worst a good backup.
Arizona adding another blue chip prospect like a Mauigoa or even a Spencer Fano at RT should give AZ another excellent top 5-10 OL again behind one of the most gifted OT Duos in the NFL.
With that OL rebuild the run game in FA giving them an Elite top 5 run game again as they had in 2024 looking to sign an Elite F/A dual threat RB like a Bryce Hall, resign a healthy RB/WR James Connor who still has a lot left was just a top 3 back in 2024 then was hurt last year. Coming off his ankle he likely signs for $2-$3M, limiting his carry’s behind a #1 Dual-Threat RB like Hall given Connors power violent running style I still think he has a lot left in a #2 role. And a healthy dual threat big bodied 6”1 220lb RB/WR with elite 4.37 speed like Trey Benson could and likely does take off behind a much better OL assuming he stays healthy. Behind a dramatically improved top 5-8 OL again they easily should have a top 5-7 run game especially if Murray is the QB.
And at WR/TE Arizona is loaded and will look to add another inside/outside WR in the draft this year . Bringing in a coach like LaFluer who unlike Petzing understands how to game plan around several weapons getting the most out of the talent you have which again Drew P. Never did. 6”4-215lb #1 WR Marvin Harrison Jr takes off joining ranks of elite top 10 #1WRs next year. Harrison Jr was beginning to really take off this past season playing at a very high top 10 level especially once Jacoby took over at QB and then MHJ unlucky as he is ends up hurting his heel that plagued him rest of the season. Next season I think Harrison Jr takes off especially dominating catch’s contested where he showed a gang of growth this last year n he becomes a top-10 WR w/90-100rec n 1200+YDs 8-10TDs. And this last season developing into a #1WR himself though he’s a WR2 in AZ developing into an elite dominant route runner n borderline elite 6”2-210lb WR Michael Wilson who’s still growing n will be even better next season.
And this season in the draft in rd3 I think AZ looks to upgrade WR3 and they draft an inside/outside WR with elite speed who can stretch the field drafting 6”1-201lb Omar Cooper Jr (4.43) or 6”0- 185 WR Skylar Bell both known as vertical threats which would pull cov helping both MHJ/Wilson. And then AZ has a solid avg slot WR in Greg Dortch n talented young slot WR A. Weaver who’s talent is under utilized.
Arizona is loaded at TE though as AZ has the best TE in the game an elite receiving threat as a #1WR himself (along with MHJ/Wilson) in Elite 6”4-250lb TE Trey McBride. AZ has another excellent above average receiver in former converted WR in 6”4 245lb TE Elijah Higgins. Back healthy essentially a 6th OL in dominant blocking TE who’s one of thee best athletes at TE in NFL possessing elite athleticism in 6”5-270lb TE Tip Reiman can be a YAC God in the short 5-15YD pass game and we will see him used more in the pass game after putting in a lot of work to improve his route running the last two years.
And lastly at QB with a coach like LaFleur coming in who sees the elite talent of Murray (being his money is guaranteed) I think LaFluer brings him back and gets him back and playing at an Elite Pro-Bowl top 5-8 level once again behind an Elite dominant run game and strong dominant OL keeping him untouched n upright I think Murray would flourish especially LaFluer who runs McVays west coast offense excels marrying more modern spread based concepts with his west coast system and understands the importance of playing to his QB1s strengths which he would do and which Petzing never did he tried to stick a round post into a square hole repeatedly and could never design game sheets that utilized all the weapons he had at his disposal.
Even with Jacoby Brissett (If AZ decides to draft a QB this year to redshirt behind Brissett or maybe they wait till next year to take a QB) with an excellent top notch OL keeping him clean, an Elite top 5-7 run game he can lean on giving him a nasty play action game loaded at WR n TE I Think with a much improved defense on the other side of the football (which it definitely will be just getting everyone healthy n so many premier talents going into YR2-YR3 and new additions in FA/Draft it’ll be much improved) they can be a playoff team with Brissett who’s an above-avg QB and he would just need to be a sound good game manager at QB and proven capable in 17 starts to be a 65% 4100-4200YDs 28-32TDs/8-10INTs n a 95.0-100 QB Passer Rating. This year over 17 games he was on pace for 4750+ pass yards,33TDs n 11INTs, granted in a better offense he won’t throw as much which is why I adjusted the yardage but with a loaded offense around him he definitely is good enough to win with.
As I’ve just laid out AZs offense isn’t far away from becoming a top 5-7 elite offense once again making it critical they hit on this hire n bring in the right coach. I think if they hire LaFluer he will be a home run hire and they will have a top 10 caliber offense once again this season and much improved defense placing them back in the playoff mix again in 2026
I don’t hate the idea but I’d like it more if he had any success without Shanahan or McVay. If he is bringing either or both, i’m 100% sold.
Mike Lafleur is not the guy.
Id rather have the oc for the seahawks
Why?
I prefer an ex-HC or a coordinator with more experience.
