What is with the Baker Mayfield slander? Is this writer an arm of the Browns ownership family?

The highlight imo was how this author cites Baker as immature and not trustworthy being the reason the browns moved on from him. Should probably go get the low risk Deshaun Watson. He’s shown no signs of immaturity and is clearly trustworthy

  1. This author is a joker. Most dysfunctional organization in sports history and he concludes with basically no analysis that Baker is the toxic one, and the Browns dysfunction had no role in it.

  2. This is why Baker’s been low-key and only logs on to promote stuff. Spicy Baker feeds families. But to be fair, even he has said, he was immature and was at fault during that time.

  3. What a well-sourced, nuanced look back at a defining moment for the franchise /s

It’s nice when they just begin the comment section hot takes right under the headline rather than making you read a whole article to get to them. What a joke.

  4. Rookie of the year Baker Mayfield was just good….The last QB to lead the Browns to the playoffs, just good. No he was a great QB that had to overcome a bad coach and insane front office moves. Culminating in them playing him even though he was injured. This article is garbage.

  5. They always forget that he was playing with a broken shoulder and Stefanski had him throw 50 times in the rain with a healthy Nick Chubb.

  6. Browns fan here. Jason Lloyd is part of the Browns media. He also does analysis (film and contracts). He is not the media member mouthpiece of Halsem (that’s MKC). He’s the least idiot of the Browns media personalities. He’s still an idiot.

What need really be understood here is that those personalities were comically wrong about Baker. They’ve been trying very hard to acknowledge that they were wrong about something but not the thing they were actually wrong about. It’s like listening to politicians. For reference, https://www.reddit.com/r/Browns/comments/rq29lk/jason_lloyd_baker_mayfields_mounting_failures_may/ same-ish article from when Baker was on the Browns.  Fyi some of these people were saying that Baker wasn’t good enough to be a BACKUP QB.

  7. Hack writer in Ohio, covering Browns, Cavs, and Guardians. Imagine that…

Mayfield immature yet this is the same franchise that drafted Manziel and sent a boatload of picks to the Texans for that Watson-pervert.

Whatever happened to accuracy in reporting? Is everything all about sensationalism and rage-bait.

    Jesus Christ on a Cracker!

  8. Well to be fair Baker was definitely immature. There’s the whole crotch grab incident in college and the cop tackling him in the street. I think he’s overcome all of this we all do stupid shit in our late teens/early 20s.

Browns are the new Bucs when it comes to gold jacket QBs. Steve Young, Doug

  9. Look at the judgement of that front office. Signing Deshaun Watson was a stupid thing to do. Baker is way better off with us.

  10. Lifelong browns and bucs fan here. A meddling owner an inept front office and a pussy head coach ran Baker out of town here. They turned the media against him and that was the writing on the wall. Most fans still liked and wanted him but who cares about us right?

  11. “But the Browns’ original assessment of Mayfield was spot on”

Oh you mean after they drafted him and watched him play for a few seasons? Yep, they sure nailed it.

  12. Jason Lloyd is a complete asshole. Pounded the table for Watson from basically the start of 2021 and posts BS that none of Baker’s coaches like him.

  13. Can we get him to do a piece on Todd B and make me feel better going into this season? 😭😭😭

  14. I just read like third article, that an head coach canceled their meeting or straight up pass on going to Cleveland. It’s toxic waste of an organization over there. They did Baker a favor, by going after toxic human being like Watson.
