  1. Mike, you nailed it when you said the Steelers are not willing to bottom out for even a season in order to rebuild through the draft as well as trading expensive aging players on the D side of the ball.

  2. The Steelers as we know them are done. Every one is going to say this is an offensive hire but you mean to tell me they couldn't get no other younger coaching candidate that specializes in offense. This is when you know that the politics is taking over

  3. Art Rooney you are trash my guy we don't want McCarthy or Aaron 😔 this organization is exhausting and LAZY we need new fresh modern NFL minds we are going backwards OFFENSE is what we want to see stop being so cheap‼️hear your fans this is a desperation move stop being scared to build this team it's time 😮‍💨

  4. I see McCarthy as a bridge coach for a 2 to 3 year stretch until they find that younger guy to become the Steelers coach. There's no one that is available now or they can't get now but will be looking at in the next couple of years.

  5. I've been a Steeler fan since 1997. With this hiring I'm officially out. I live in Los Angeles now so I'll be rooting for the Chargers. I cannot believe this is how this fucking organization is being ran

  6. Don’t think any Steelers fan has kept in mind their previous process of head coach hires (“this hire will be a big change for Steelers fans…something they’re not used to”).
They just know the results and lengths of their respective tenures…care less how they got the hire.
Especially younger generation fans..Tomlin was all they knew.
Lukewarm on McCarthy hiring (take it or leave it) on surface.
Indeed, will be interesting if they’re interested in bringing back Rodgers now.

  7. well of course, a good story is way better than winning championships. 62 year old drunk to maybe keep a 43 year old QB is wild. I am done with the Steelers.

  8. Mike McCarthy is the same age as Sean Payton. He is a fantastic pick and clearly the best head coach candidate available. He was great in Green Bay. He was great in Dallas and he will be great in Pittsburgh.

  9. i like the hire. mccarthy, belichick and lincoln riley were the best coaches available and they don't have to pay a buy out that they would had to pay for belichick or riley.

  10. There is no wrong move when you're replacing a guy that tied a record for most consecutive playoff losses. They could hire Florio and have Simms be the assistant coach and it would be better than retaining Tomlin.
