“League sources say Portland has long admired New York’s Mikal Bridges going back to Lillard’s first stint as a Blazer.

I must also share, furthermore, that league sources have painted the Blazers as potential buyers during this Trade Season, with Portland said to be looking to be opportunistic before the onrushing deadline to help its playoff push.”

  1. I feel like he’s being a bit disingenuous here.

    We are:

    – Buyers
    – Could look at using the bucks draft capital in a 3 team Giannis deal and have signaled as such
    – Have had interest in Mikal Bridges in the past

And it feels like those three things are all independent of each other but Fischer is putting them together.

At most, I’d be interested in maybe the 2030 bucks swap, our orlando pick, and Jerami for Mikal. But beyond that, I don’t feel like acquiring him moves the needle in a way that changes our trajectory too much.

  2. Giving up the bucks picks which are about to become very valuable for Mikel Bridges would be a massive blunder

  3. We see a guy shoot 3/16 today and earn 40 million and the thought that goes through our mind is “we could use him on the team”

  4. Mikal is a decent player on a big contract, similar to Jerami Grant. I wouldn’t give up a whole lot to get him.

  5. Heck no. I swear there have been so many insanely short sighted stupid rumors being mentioned about Portland. If Cronin does any of them I’m going to lose my mind.

Stay the course with the young core, period. Don’t trade any of them. The absolute only trade candidates this year should be Jrue, Grant, RW3, Reath, and Thybulle (though I doubt anyone would take Thybulle or Reath). Maybe Yang too since he’s shown absolutely zero growth, but even then I would be hesitant since the Blazers gave up a lot for Yang and would be selling extremely low at this point, but I digress.

If Cronin trades any of the young core to “win now”, I might be done with this team until he’s inevitably fired when said decision falls flat on its face. About the only hope I have is that most of Cronin’s moves have been out of left field, and most big moves during the off-season. Hope that trend continues.

  6. Only reason you should trade these picks, is for a top 5-7 player in the league.
    Making you a contender.
    If not NAH

  7. I like the lineup with a Deni/Sharpe back court and 3 more tough wings. Bridges is just paid too much, but upgrading the  Murray/Rup/Sidy role would improve the team.

Too bad Matisse is so unreliable.

  8. Doesn’t fill a need for us, besides availability. With Scoot out still, I’d prefer a backup pg or big.

  9. All we need to do is stay put and wait for teams to implode, our core is developing nicely.

Bucks, Knicks, Cleveland, Minnesota, Orlando it doesn’t matter any of those or others might decide it’s time to sell and we have the assets they are going to want.

  10. The only trade we should consider is for a 3 point shooter and maybe a 2nd/3rd PG, but both, only for this season.

Next year is going to be a completely different ball of wax if Dame and/or Scoot are good to go…
