Eric Collins: "This is the longest stretch of games that LaMelo Ball has been healthy enough to play uninterrupted in a long while. The Hornets, the Hornets fans, and the NBA in general are seeing the fruits of LaMelo just being healthy and available."

Dell Curry: "A lot of talk about 'LaMelo is not starting'… you're not paying attention to what's happening in the big picture, and that's he's available to play on a nightly basis. That changes the landscape of this team…"

  1. Starting has nothing to do with availability. If he rolls his ankle on the next play he’s out for a month whether he started or not

  2. Chandler parsons comments pissed me off. Dude has no idea what he’s talking about. Told lue Williams that lamelo wasn’t on a minutes restriction cause of injury management and had no idea why the Hornets would put their star on the bench

  3. Given melo’s injury history, it’s kind of a low ball. (Melo fans don’t come over here raging on me.) I don’t mind the minutes restrictions. In fact I agree with it. But Melo *has* to start. Has to, and this is a huge misstep by Lee. How you start the game is incredibly important. Sure, take him off the floor after 4 minutes or whatever. Also, today against the Wizards is a perfect example. Don’t wait until 3:30 left in the fourth to put Melo and Kon back into the game. I want to monitor Melo’s minutes but I don’t want to throw away games that we’re winning either

  4. I still think you start him, and take him out halfway into the 1st. But he HAS to start, it’s not good for optics if he doesn’t.
