In 2002, Pat Tillman was a starting safety for the Arizona Cardinals. He had just come off a season where he set a franchise record with 224 tackles and turned down a $9 million contract offer out of loyalty. Then, 9/11 happened. Pat didn’t hold a press conference. He didn’t look for cameras. He simply told the Cardinals he was enlisting in the U.S. Army. He traded his helmet for a Ranger tab, serving in Iraq and Afghanistan before losing his life in 2004. He remains the standard for what it means to put principles over profits.
