- “Obviously, you know, we’re quite ready to play. You feel like you are, but, you know, they come out flying; they draw two penalties; they capitalized; the building was rocking… We just kind of beat ourselves. I mean, they were turnovers on a lot of goals.”
- They settled in and got chances, but nothing went in. Special teams were the difference and they lost that game early in the first.
- “They came out with more urgency…They won a couple more battles, They worked harder. They drew more penalties in those certain instances and capitalized on their power play.”
- “We're not getting the results. I'm not at all happy with where we're at. This fucking sucks. Sorry about my language, but this really sucks. Losing every night, it's really hard to stay positive. I mean, it's really hard. This is nobody's standard or what we're willing to accept within each other, is losing every game it feels like right now. I think it’s just constant mistakes and shooting ourselves the foot. Everybody’s really trying hard. That’s what really sucks.”

- “That’s not a great way to start a game.” Once they settled in to more 5v5, they started to get some opportunities. “There’s no hiding the fact that the start really kills us… it’s just a constant trying to come back… you’re wasting a lot of energy playing like that, too, at times…just not good enough obviously.”
- Mika Zibanejad on the Sharks' Macklin Celebrini: "He's been one of the best in the league. He's not only showed that against us, he's shown that against I feel like every team they've played. You look at what he's been able to do, it's obviously impressive. Unbelievable player, and at such a young age to be able to have the impact, that's impressive. Kudos to him. Obviously, him playing well again didn't help us."
Troch
- “Spotted them three goals early on and seems like that’s become a little bit of a theme lately and we got to get away from it… PK wasn’t as it needs to be.”
- They needed to better at staying out of the box and better on the PK,
- “You can’t start a game like that, spot a team a couple of goals and then take seven penalties along the way and think you’re giving yourself the best chance to win. It’s just not a recipe for success.”
- They need to have a ‘’readisness” from puck drop. “I got to do a better job preparing them for it. I just got to find a way to make sure they're ready to from the drop of the puck today.”
- Celebrini is not easy to defend. “He’s a special player…he’s a complete player…he drives a lot of their overall game on both sides of the puck.”
