This was probably the best move. Maybe he can develop their next (hopefully long term) QB.
He was the QBs Coach for Joe Montana, Steve Young, and Brett Favre. Then was the head coach for Favre, Rodgers, and Dak Prescott.
Art Rooney Sr. was a joke too. Dan Rooney is literally the only competent man in his family.

Don’t get me wrong I was tired of getting bounced first round of the playoffs as well, but I didn’t want Tomlin to get fired because I had no confidence that Art would pick a good or even decent replacement. Nobody else wanted McCarthy for a reason and he completely ignored that. 🤦♀️

But McCarthy has helped QBs progress, maybe we roll with Howard and see what he can do with him, we need good coordinator hires here too maybe we get McDermott as a DC, idk. We have Howard o. A rookie contract we have 12 picks in this coming draft, we roll the dice, if we fall on our face and we pick higher in the 2027 draft with pieces we get in this coming draft. Trying to spin a positive here.
