Miles Bridges: “Just focus on winning, focus on controlling what I can control. If I get traded, if I don’t get traded… I would rather be here. But I know if I do get traded, I know Jeff Peterson and those guys, they’ll talk to me first. So, I don’t try to worry about that. I just worry about the games.”

Am I the only one that prefers Miles staying rn? He’s a consistent above average player and I don’t envision us getting a player or pick back of his caliber. He’s also really stepped up this year as a leader and has been that veteran presence that our core needs. Furthermore, with the way he talks I could see him taking less money at the end of this contract to stay.
Well, Miles has stayed long enough with us and deserves to not be blindly traded. Hope we reach a good trade for us that can put him on a decent position.
I won’t be mad at all if the front office decides to keep Miles here. Trading him only makes sense if you can get a good return, and I’m not sure that’ll happen. I trust Peterson and Co. to make the correct decision.
I do think Miles could move the needle in a real way for a couple of teams. In the event that we were blown away by a decent offer, I’d be in. Otherwise I’d like to see these guys keep cooking and win a few consecutive games at home.
I’m ready to move on from Miles. If we keep Lamelo, Brandon and Kon we need a more defense oriented four who keeps the ball moving and doesn’t feel like he needs to get his. I think Grant can move in his spot. Then Salaun has shown he can be efficient even in a reduced minutes.
Some say we need to shake up the roster to fix the defense, but statistically speaking, our defense hasn’t been that bad since January. Miles’s contract is a great asset, so it’ll still be a valuable trade chip this summer or even by next season’s deadline—we can afford to wait. There’s no reason to disrupt the momentum we’ve finally built after all these years.
Off-court issues aside, Bridges has been a real iron man and a positive locker room influence for this team.
That said, he’s under-sized at his position and probably past his prime. I think he has to go for this team to reach its potential. That doesn’t have to be now, though. They can wait for an offer that serves both the Hornets and Miles.
the way we’ve looked the last month or so you can absolutely make the case to not trade him, especially if the return isn’t there. finally gelling as a team, and a good way to bottom that out would be shipping him out just to give salaun a bigger role than he deserves rn.
