  1. It’s not McDaniel but I don’t hate it. Baker likes him, Falcons offense was decent at the end of the year, he made better use of Bijan and even Pitts. Could be good or at least an upgrade over Griz.

  2. I’m tired of the lazy comments from Falcons fans on their own team.

They should know their QBs could not play under center, yet it’s all “Baker should get ready to learn pistol!” nonsense on r/ nfl.

Is this a sexy hire? No.

Was Zac Robinson limited by what his QBs could physically do formation wise? Yes.

Some context, please. Robinson was considered the next McVeigh genius a few years ago, and two years dealing with QBs who literally cannot do anything outside of the shotgun or pistol.

  3. Falcons fans are idiots, they hated Kyle Shanahan, too, so take their analysis with a grain of salt.

This feels more like a “could be worse” hire. Callahan would have been waving the white flag. A young guy who hasn’t called plays would put Bowles back on prepping his OC rather than focusing on fixing his defense.

    So, could be worse.

  4. I’m all for giving Baker a guy that he wants. But I also think if Baker takes a big step back like he did the second half of the season (which to be fair may have been purely due to injury) we need to start thinking of a future without him.

  5. I’m surprised to hear Zac Robinson was considered one of the coveted OC prospects. But looking at Atlanta, everyone knew the ball was going to Bijian 60% of the time but he still schemed up ways to get him loose on a career year. I also wonder if we have an inside track on getting Tyler Allgeir in free agency now. He’d be an amazing compliment to Bucky.

  6. I wouldn’t mind if we bring Pitts in. Cheap contract and he was making good progress under Robinson. He went from bad-mid to mid-good, which sounds like I’m being facetious, but Pitts has the tools to be a top TE in the league if the situation is right. And Otten didn’t exactly light up that stat sheet this year, so it would be a good depth move too.
