  1. Max and Bassitt were a major reason the Jays were successful last season. They were leaders in the clubhouse and mentors to the other players with all their experience and knowledge of the game.
They provided confidence and swagger to this group.
Their value to the team goes beyond their numbers.
New faces like Cease and Ponce would greatly benefit by having them onboard.

  2. I would say that Max Scherzer would make sense in the coaching staff, mentoring young pitchers and being a positive clubhouse guy in general. Possibly as the bullpen coach. And if (when) a pitcher goes down with an injury, he can be signed as a pitcher and be available to pitch the same day.

  3. I like Max and all but I just don’t know that he can bring it again. Maybe sign him up later if we need him. Bassitt though I could see as a legit bullpen arm. And maybe a leverage arm. I’d take over Dominguez on a 1 year contract. Then he can be either a leverage guy, a swing/long man, or a back up starter. That one is a good fit I think.

  4. Max could be in a player-coach role. Did they ever fill Don Mattingly’s spot? I think it’s pretty important for the locker room to have Scherzer and Bassitt back

  5. Nick, I admire your dedication to Toronto sports updates. But if I can give you some constructive criticism… Every offseason, you reach to a point where you are just talking about nonsense rumors. We need a bit of a filter when it comes to that kind of content.

Personally, I'd love to see you shift into different types of videos. Maybe do player profiles or prospect rankings or look to bring on some guests….

Food for thought, love the content keep it up.
