  1. There was 0 doubt in my mind he was coming back. He explored other teams because he wanted more money. The idea of him walking away from 50 million seemed far fetched.

Also Stafford legitimately loves football. Seems like the type who will walk away when he can’t play anymore.

  2. I have no idea where the idea came from that he would just retire after this season. I’m pretty sure he will play into his 40s as long as his body holds up.

  3. A lot can happen in between now and winning the SB if we make it. Let’s get through that before we even talk about next season.

That said, if we do unexpectedly fall short, I can’t imagine Stafford will want to retire on that kind of downer.

  4. Man this gets me even MORE excited for the draft. Let’s protect him with our lives, and a young corner!

  5. Pretty much every great QB goes out washed as fuck, no one ever retires close to the peak of their abilities. He’ll be around until he’s mid or worse

  6. Wonder what that means for his contract. Im sure we are going to deal with the same thing we dealt with last year. We are in a great spot cap wise with Jackson, Donald, and Kupps dead cap off the books. I hope they pay him a bit extra as hes going to be mvp.

For those who dont know, yes hes under contract but its still a year to year thing with Stafford. They keep him under contract past the year so hes not a FA. Its something both sides have agreed to. Its to help the dead cap hit when he does retire.

  7. If you’ve listened to him talk at all this season this is not surprising. I think he sticks around until the wheels fall off and right now that’s looking like 3+ years.

  8. 4352 passing yards and 14 passing TDs away from becoming the Rams all time franchise leader in those categories.
