I've seen one too many tweets hating on Derwin or just not understanding what makes him great (no its not just cuz he hits hard and body slammed kelce) and sadly, not enough fans even know how to defend Derwin when these clowns get to talking. Even got people who label him as a run stuffer and blitzer 🤦 like yes he's elite at those, but its so disingenuous to his coverage skills

Not only is it obviously valuable to have the best coverage slot corner in football, as these screenshots indicate, it is a whole completely different beast when the best slot corner in football is also basically a LINEBACKER out there. The age old question of do I run nickel or base isn't relevent anymore when you got this demon who doubles as an elite slot corner who also is shedding blocks and whacking RBs better than most people's favorite LB. Also enables you to run 2 high a lot more and not get absolutely shredded vs the run like staley did when he had derwin playing deep. When someone says 12th man, that means Derwin before anybody else. No reason his name shouldn't have been in the dpoy ballot. I cant overstate the value of a guy allowing you to essentially be in nickel and base at the same time, and its just not talked about enough. Look at ravens defense after the Alohi trade if you need an example of the value in brings, because Hamilton is the only guy in derwins stratosphere.

  1. He’s rocketing up the all time list of sacks by a DB. That alone is enough said because old school safeties and DBs used to be a lot more involved in rushing the passer than they are in modern defenses. He’s the perfect blend of a new school and an old school DB and I’m glad he’s on our side because I’d HATE to play against him.

  2. I don’t see a lot of people hating on Derwin. But I also don’t use twitter because it’s a cesspool and is just for hating on everyone. He’s a multi-time all pro and is pretty widely regarded as one of the best DBs in the game. I think this is a twitter-specific thing.

  3. Always fun to see where he lines up because he’s pretty much involved in every defensive stop. QBs must be so scared when they see him blitzing.

  7. Derwin has been my favorite player since we drafted him. He’s just so fucking good.

    I got the chance to meet him and he’s a great person too. Signed my Derwin jersey on my back and got a selfie with this legend

    I think he’s on track to be knocking on HoFs door. Another few great seasons from him and I think he’s got a real chance

  8. I think he’s a really dynamic smart player with no wasted movements out there. Very understanding of scheme and timing shown across nearly every spot on the defensive field.
