WAS THE FIRST ROUND OF THE 2013 NFL DRAFT THE WORST DRAFT CLASS OF ALL TIME…?

I recognize like 4 names on this list, so probably not a great one.
I like to pretend we took Travis Kelce first overall
I like to pretend that Kelce was our first pick and Fish was the 3rd round pick. Sounds better that way lol.
Not for the Chiefs. I’m sure we were all underwhelmed at the time but at worst they got the third best pick in the round.
If you survived 2013 as a Chiefs fan, I salute you brothers and sisters.
Fisher did a solid job. But remembering back it’s interesting that the talk was always Fisher vs Joeckel, and Lane Johnson is the one that turned out to be the All Pro.
Geno was in this draft. So glad they didn’t take him with the 1
All things considered, we did okay with Fisher.
What can you do.
It says a lot that we drafted Fisher with the 1st overall pick who turned out to just be a serviceable LT, and pretty much everyone agrees that the Chiefs made a reasonable decision given the available talent.
It was, and naturally that’s when the Chiefs had the top pick.
Though if we did take a decent QB there, we probably wouldn’t have got Mahomes later on, so it kind of worked out.
When even the guards drafted were complete trash, you know it was bad. Lane Johnson has been great as a RT, but we made the best choice with what was available. It just happened to be a rough year for talent overall.
I remember a lot of Chiefs fans wanted EJ Manuel. Fisher turned out to be the right choice even though he was no Joe Thomas
We should have taken Leon Sandcastle
LT was THE need at the time. Lane Johnson was right there but all the talk was between Fisher and Joeckel. Still Fisher ended up being serviceable and was part of the first Super Bowl of this run. No regrets.
Counterpoint is if there was a QB to take over Cassell then we probably wouldn’t have been in position to get Mahomes.
Lane Johnson and DHop doing a lot of work to carry that class….
Not for Kansas City. Got a Pro Bowl caliber tackle with the first pick and he’s got a ring
I know hindsight is 50/50 but it would have been phenomenal if we took Lane.
OMFG I can’t believe Barkevious Mingo is a real dude. 😂 That’s the most Key and Peele football name I’ve ever heard
Interesting to think what would have happened if we took Johnson with the first pick.
I still remember several chiefs fan screaming for Geno Smith with the #1 pick and when KC drafted Fisher talking about how Reid should be fired and KC will never get to the playoffs again.
It was wild.
Hopkins was a stud for a long time
I did not recognize a name until I got to Kyle Long. Hop and AirCordarrell are household names.
Hindsight but obviously Johnson was the pick. Fisher was solid but durability wasn’t there.
Just glad they didn’t reach for a QB.
It was the “socks and underwear” draft
Who was the best qb from the draft?
wtf is an Eric fisher?
By far the worst draft ever to have the first overall. Of all those guys, only like two offensive lineman, a DT, and a safety, a WR, and a kicker worked out. 😂
I remember all the pre draft debates being between Fisher, Joeckel, and Geno Smith. I was on the side of Geno, but in hindsight I’m glad we went with Big Fish.
Idk man, Leon Sandcastle was a pretty good #1 pick for us that year
Did Barkevious Mingo play college ball with the likes of Nyquillus Dillwad , D’squarrius Green Jr, and Jackmeriius Tacktheritix?
The 1992 draft produced zero Hall of Fame players
Fish was a really good tackle he just gets ostracized for that Pittsburgh playoff game. He didn’t develop into an upper echelon tackle for few years but he did get there and I think it’s unfair to act like he didn’t
Yes… I’ve said it all these years we picked the worst draft year to be bad .. thankfully its the same year Andy Came in so you win some you lose some.. I really wanted Geno that draft..
Hard to believe, in retro, that so many players were drafted before D-Hop.
Fisher was a solid first piece of our transition to super bowl contender under Andy. I’m grateful in hindsight that we didn’t have good option to take QB. If Andrew Luck played his final year of eligibility and was available in our #1 pick draft it completely changes the timeline with us picking Mahomes.
Go look at the 1992 draft. Legit the worst of all time, and it’s not even close. It’s the only draft in NFL history to feature ZERO Hall of Famers, and only like two picks ended up being any good at all.
Fish was a stalwart for us. Would have been cool to have a prime DHOP but I’m cool with what resulted.
