I can see why MLF liked him enough to hire him!

  1. It’s seems the soft just got softer. I hate this hire. Jimmy was the guy. It feels like when we passed on TJ seemingly just because the brass didn’t want to do what the fans wanted because they knew better than the fans

  2. Because that will totally happen in the future and everyone here knows it…

Why are we so fast to judge these guys before they are even in GB coaching? We have no idea how this will turn out.

All you can do as a fan is hope he does well and root for him to succeed. The pessimism in here is ridiculous…

  3. I know the season hasn’t even begun but I hate his philosophy on defense. He did well with the Eagles but they had a great defensive roster. As Cardinals head coach, his defense was near the bottom in points allowed and passer rating allowed. Not great stats. On D you have Parsons, Cooper, Wyatt, and McKinney as ballers and not much else. Have to see what he can do with our awful CB room.

  4. I am so glad our ownership shares don’t let any of you have a say on team personnel. His previous 2 seasons as a defensive coordinator he was top 10 in total defence. In 2022 his defence had the fewest passing yards allowed, the most sacks, and 4th for interceptions. Almost like we could use more interceptions, more sacks, and less passing yards allowed. Anyone not excited to see what he can do with Parsons and our defence should head down to Gary Indiana, you’ll find more football fans who don’t understand anything about football there.

  5. If we have the exact same issues next year I’m completely giving up on the Packers executive team. This all looks like nothing is going to change for next year.

  6. Under pressure & panic, Matt’s hiring is like his play calling. Digging into that “Eberflus” tree of talent is definitely special, he’s guaranteed to never be in danger of Gannon threatening him for his job.

Sad to see this team turn into a “good enough” mentality, Matt’s history of soft, bend not break unattacking mentality does more harm then good and apparently he’ll never learn. This is not the best hire the team deserves.

  7. Protecting leads is as much an offensive stat as a defensive one. Look what Packers did to start the second half in that playoff game. Multiple 3 and outs and gave defense no time to rest and squandered multiple chances to put the game out of reach.

  8. So I guess it’s let’s build up hate before we see what he can do with these players smfh

  9. He is not a bad candidate. I wished him a little more success in AZ. If they can give him better corners than last year then it will be easier to avoid blowing leads.

  10. Look, I know I have no say in anything and obviously trust the organization to make the best decision possible, I just thought that little note stood out.
That being said, I don’t know what kind of “pull” Hafley had in draft picks but I certainly hope we give him the opportunity to draft players that help maximize his scheme. Excited to see what he does with Micah!

  11. Yawn.  Looking forward to another 14th place finish and people talking about potential for another 3 years.

  12. MLF wanting a DC with previous head coaching experience says a lot more to me about his drive and desire regarding the leadership aspect of coaching than anything else associated with this hire. I’d prefer a coach who wants to lead his ENTIRE team and not delegate more than half of it so that he can be a fool around as a coordinator in fact and a head coach only on paper. Expect more questionable and confusing decisions with this approach.

  13. It’s gonna be 20 years with a Super Bowl soon isn’t it? Welp it is what it is. Being a Packers fan can kind of suck sometimes 😩 but I’ll cheer for them with all I have for every minute pf every game.

  14. I’m disappointed in this pick for DC. Leonhard was the guy when they picked Barry and should’ve been the guy this time too. Call me a homer, I get it… and maybe Gannon will be good. I hope he is. He’s just not the DC I wanted. It would’ve been fun to see what Jim would’ve done with our defense. Seems like a missed opportunity on multiple levels.

  15. We have to get used to the idea that this shitty soft zone defense is exactly what MLF has wanted all along and that Joe Barry was exactly the DC that MLF wanted. Leonard was never an option. Not today, not yesterday, not ever.

  16. No faith in MLF picking a DC. Hafley was the only half decent one.

If this defense takes a step back and is blowing leads from what I expect under Gannon MLF needs to be fired

  17. Don’t really like this hire but don’t think it ultimately will matter with MLF still at the helm. Same team same coach same result next season
