Horrible. Turning us into Cleveland east.
Not the right guy, he is a re-tread. Massive mistake!!!
Steelers think Rodgers and McCarthy can some how go back to 2011 and win a superbowl in 2026β¦that building is extremely delusional
Steelers never wanna rebuild, it was never tomlin
Rodgers could probably play a couple more seasons there, but he needs to make a commitment and not act like a diva.
At ten million a year they could afford to create a very good roster around him.
Yall better go get Malik Willis
Welp, it's been nice making the playoffs for the past 2 decades, we Steelers fans are in for some real hard times the next however many seasons they waste with McCarthy.
Should've waited until after the superbowl to hire a hc
Terrible hire!!!!!
So that means Steelers wonβt be winning a superbowl π
He isn't the right fit. He is terrible. The steelers are tanking the next 3 years.
Omar kahn wanted his buddy in so bad but hopefully both of them go
At least its a guy who knows offensive football.
Don't say much. This is not good.
And now Rodgers is going to milk this for months only to complain about getting so much attention.
All of these morons crapping on this need to smarten up. This guy knows quarterbacks and offense and is great at developing both. Steeler fans are the worst. They know nothing
The dude at a local bar in Pittsburgh probably has deep ties to Pittsburgh. Why not just hire him if thatβs such a big deal to The franchise.
Rodgers is mediocre at this point. McCarthy is mediocre. This isnβt about a qb itβs about sustained mediocrity. I hope somehow this turns out better than that but I just donβt see it
Looks like Pittsburgh is drifting into the Dallas Cowboys fog of discontent and wilderness wondering. Sometimes, these things drag on for years as fans of Dallas can tell you.
into the wilderness the Steelers go
Ridiculous choice!!!!!! Unbelievable
I honestly think them other candidates really didn't want this job for real. The moment this job opened yall had to know this wasn't a ideal job whatsoever. They only had in person interviews with the DC from miami , flores and Mccarthy. Flores prolly would rather get extend as vikings DC then fw pittsburgh.
Anything is better than Tomlin.
Falcons needed McCarthy
They only interviewed the other two because they were black. That Rooney rule is disgusting. You leading black candidates on and you know you won't hire them.
I'm a cowboys fan and dallas is not a good team for any coach because of jerry jones involvement, so Mike could possibly do well because hes going to have more control.
π€ HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!
I DIDN'T KNOW JERRY JONES HAD A TWIN BROTHER RUNNING THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS ORGANIZATION!
AAAAAAAAAAA…..HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! ππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππππ
As a Ravens fan, I am more stunned than laughing in someone's misery, although I personally believe the Yinzers deserve some karma thrown their way after years of thumping their chests and behaving so insufferable about the success of the Steelers. I had expected the Steelers to match Minter's hire by hiring a young defensive minded coach in his late 30s or early 40s, and personally, I had pegged Flores to be the catch, since he had a similar profile as Tomlin. Instead, the Steelers hired a Yinzer to coach this team in Mike McCarthy (McCarthy is born and raised in Pittsburgh, so the term applies to him). I want my rivals to be competitive, not weak as heck, so yeah.
A right fit to tank the season for top 3 pick
Great time for some Ravens talk! heheβ¦..ALLS i know is that Coach Minter BETTER bring Tart, Oweh, and Mack along with him to shore up our pass rush and defensive lineβs interior!πͺπΏππΏπΏ
Sticking with Tomlin would have been worse! Tomlin destroyed the Steelers!
If McCarthy fails, itβs because he is taken over a team left in shambles due to Tomlinβs incompetence!
King rooney! steelers fans are peasants
Great pick up here. McCarthy will help with our next QB Will Howard or if we draft one or Aaron Rogers
He's cheap, he's local. There you go
Art is ruining his fatherβs legacy. Tale as old as time
IF Steelers fans are 'Truly' pissed, then stop going to games. Show them your anger by NOT showing them your money.
So fkn horrible! Unless Rooney Sells the team we're so screwed! He refuses to rebuild! Horrible. Just HORRIBLE
To many negative people. The man didn't even get a chance yet
This has become nothing more than a soap opera. I appreciate the internal changes Aaron made happen to make the offense look less lethargic this year, but his ability has declined significantly because he can no longer beat the elite teams that are making deep runs into playoffs in recent seasons. It's no longer enough to win the NORTH, can you beat KC, Buffalo, and consistently win against Baltimore with a healthy Jackson? The answer is no. We can't even beat the Browns with a rookie QB. Now we not only have the north to deal with… Can you beat the now young and vigorous Patriots & Broncos. Our recent season says, NO! Aaron had the protection this year. He had the talent around him this year. He had a decent season compared to his last season with the Jets, but again, he is too old-school with a lot of tape that shows more noticeable patterns that tips the defense like throwing to comfort receivers. As I watched the Seahawks tonight, I saw how Darnold was able to throw to other guys (other than Jackson, Smith-Injibga) to win the game. Now…should Aaron decide to not return; I would have more of an inclination to believe we are serious about making changes and winning. Mason Rudolph can always say that all the guys who were drafted ahead of him are having success. Mason should be preparing to start this upcoming season. Will Howard must stay healthy because he too, can be an asset to the team. Hopefully we move away from this Arthur Smith offense that hasn't proved to be an come-from-behind offense that we find ourselves in lately.
Patriots wil be the first to 7. Lol
