I went to my cousin’s house and was talking all kind of shit that the Lions were different that year. That play had me about as hype as ever, and then the season was over before it even started.
Me, I was there, it was my first game as a STH. I had 2 NYJ fans behind me who travelled from NY because they were also a Darnold fan when he was playing in college. I remember saying something along the lines of “Dont worry, its a long game” and then regretting it for the next 59 minutes.

I also remember the first career pass of Matt Ryan. Long TD pass. . Also a loss.
I wonder how many other teams have been involved in two first career pass TDs.
I remember this game. Then I remember them shitting the bed the rest of the season like a normal Jets team. It so like they spent all their chips on beating the Lions. It was so weird.
Worst Lions game for me. It was the sign that the next x years were going to suck, and they did.

BRO. When we got that pick 6 I was SO excited. I thought that was how the entire season was gonna be. Only to be absolutely humiliated and blown out during the Monday night season opener. 17-17 in the third and then they get a TD, a pick 6, a punt return TD on the next possession after we three and out after the pick 6. 31 points in the 3rd quarter. Fuck I hate 3rd quarters man.
