I thought coordinators were eligible for interview during the bye week but not the week of the Super Bowl?
So pretty much if the Bills don’t hire someone by the end of the week, Kubiak is the next HC.
The man who rehabilitated Sam Darnold from the jets is worth waiting for.
Seems crazy these Superbowl coordinators get punished and lose out on jobs because they make the Superbowl surprised this rule hasn’t been argued by these coordinators and changed.
Klint Kubiak literally called a perfect game.
The Bills can afford to wait 2 weeks to get the perfect guy for Josh Allen. The remaining jobs open are Buffalo, Las Vegas, Cleveland, and Arizona. You really think Klint is going to choose any of those three when he can come work with Josh Allen?
as far as i understand, the raiders can interview him right now but we cannot. kubiak is far and away my #1 choice for HC so i’ll be so pissed if raiders get him over us
If the bills don’t wait to interview Kubiak…
I love seeing Darnold thrive man, same feeling I had when stafford went to the rams.
Sam Darnold reaches the super bowl before Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, and Lamar Jackson. All in the same draft class. Just as we all predicted.
Are Beane/etc willing to wait?
The wait isn’t really dire if you think about it.
Cleveland and Arizona are actual clusterfucks atm. kubiak, Dabbol and Brady I say are prob not interested in them either so we can realistically wait as it would be between us and Vegas. But Vegas can get the 2nd interview this week so they could might just pull the trigger which we should still have all of our other choices left.
It’s not like we’re begging Josh McDaniels to be our head coach… right?
It’ll be worth the wait. The Seahawks offensively have been playing lights out all year, getting the OC in an interview is necessary at this point
Are they completely oblivious to the obvious choice? There are far better choices for HC in this very subreddit than the guys they’ve interviewed so far. Based on the analysis in the live thread every game this sub pucks up on things no one on the coaching staff does
Ohhhh ok that makes sense, it’s for second interviews. I didn’t know if it could be for initial interviews or not. Kubiak is worth the wait. Interview backup guys when waiting just to get a feel for them and if Kubiak stays, then you have someone else waiting for you
Josh and Darnold are really good friends. They should have dinner together this week. Maybe ask Klint to join.
didn’t Brady interview with another team before we played the Broncos? am i missing something here?
Kubiak would be my top choice.
Udinski is also a good option.
Has there ever been an offensive coordinator to make it to the superbowl one year, then go back to the superbowl as a head coach the following year? If not, hoping our guy Kubiak can be the first
We have a Hall of Fame level QB. Won more games than the Raiders, Cardinals, and Browns combined. These organizations have been dumpster fires no matter how much League PR tries to paint our team as dysfunctional for firing McDermott despite giving him 4 extra years after 13 seconds.
We are opening up a new stadium too. If Kubiak wins the superbowl, why wouldn’t he want to be a head coach as his next journey? He gets to step out of his father’s shadow. He gets the chance for the Kubiaks to step out of the Shanahan family’s shadow if he does well. What better way to do it than with a known quantity at QB? He really wants to go risk it with a rookie in an organization that has been a dumpster fire in the last 20 years?
That would be my pitch to Kubiak. If us firing McDermott somehow makes him scared, then I don’t think the guy has the guts to be a head coach.
Coaches in the upcoming Super Bowl game can virtually interview with us. They can interview in person with teams that they’ve already talked to or interviewed with. We would have to wait until after the Super Bowl to interview someone in person.
All we have is time anyway
If the Pats win(🤮🤮🤮) I could see Kubiak coming to get sweet revenge years to come. Go Bills!
The front office can’t afford to panic hire, patience. I would use the next 2 weeks to evaluate everything and the next possible candidates in the SB. They have to get this right, if not , it could send us back to the dark ages.
Pros: Josh Allen
Cons: Sky-high expectations, a brutal schedule next year, and a roster that needs a lot of work.
He may decide to wait it out.
As far as I can tell the Raiders are the only team in competition with the Bills for getting Kubiak. I think it comes down to if the coach would rather lead a Super Bowl contender or lead a rebuild and get to work with Mendoza.
Kalshi has the Raiders favored by quite a bit to land his services. On paper I’d say we’re the better job, but maybe he wants to build his own team around Mendoza + less immediate pressure
I guess Seattle is doing everything to keep him as OC. But HC $ talks and so does Josh Allen.
Kubiak HC Rivers OC
I honestly don’t think we want a patriot assistant anyway certain things you just don’t do
Time to procrastinate
I don’t know that the Bills are being viewed a great option, given that it’s a high-pressure situation. Significant results will be expected, and quickly.
Nobody wants to be in Buffalo anyway!! Good luck!
If they aren’t willing to wait to at least interview Klint, we aren’t a serious organization. This is a lousy cycle of coaches, get the best or throw a season.
