  1. 2026 is the perfect opportunity for a reset year. It makes the most sense. We had a bad 2025. The 2022 draft class that was so good is about to become free agents.

Trade McDuffie. Get more draft capital and cheap young prospects. Sign a starting caliber running back in Free Agency. Possibly trade down in the draft from 9 overall to get more picks if the board falls that way.

I just hope Veach isn’t pressured by Andy to do something impulsive like go all in for 2026 when we desperately need to improve the roster. The pass rush and offensive weapons are just not good enough right now. We have to get better.

The team needs better talent infrastructure right now. And it needs cheaper talent.

  2. Which IF will be louder this offseason: Captain IF and the Chargers, like always? Or the Broncifs about how they “obviously would have won the SB” with Nix?

  3. It was nice to see the broncos and rams lose. Especially since people were doing thier super bowl logo conspiracy nonsense.

  4. Anyone know when/if Veach is scheduled to address the media? Just curious what the lip service is around various possible player extensions and offseason plans, etc. I realize nothing revealing gets said but unless I missed it, his typical end of season presser hasn’t happened yet.

  5. I’m getting quite a bit of schadenfreude from posts across multiple team subs lamenting that they ‘missed their chance’ with the Patriots having torn down, rebuilt, and now made it back to the Super Bowl without their team (the Bills, the Ravens, the Texans, the Colts, all teams I’ve seen make this post) having even made one.

That’s a Chiefs stat in disguise.

  6. Watching the Patriots game yesterday and their playoff run it is obvious that they are being carried by a great defense, Vrabel and the opposing teams having injuries. Their offense has nothing to do with their Super Bowl run whatsoever.

I’ve been keeping an eye on their rookie Left Tackle Will Campbell who was taken 4th overall well ahead of Simmons. Yea, he’s a Guard. The scouting report on him was that at the NFL level he would be better suited for Guard because he doesn’t have the size, length or athletic profile of a true NFL Left Tackle. He has gotten absolutely wrecked in multiple games this year, including yesterday.

Josh Simmons is a pure Left Tackle. There are no Guard questions about him. He can play Left Tackle in the NFL. He fell to pick 32 last year because he had an absolutely devastating knee injury. Simmons was pretty decent as a rookie, and he is only scratching the surface. Simmons is a future All Pro Left Tackle. His 2025 tape is going to look horrible compared to his 2026 tape.

Simmons would be obvious OT1 in the 2025 class without the knee injury. And he would be far away OT1 in the 2026 class. He might even be OT1 over Joe Alt in the 2024 class.

There are probably only 4 or 5 Tackle prospects that are as good as Josh Simmons per decade. You feel bad for him having to go through that knee injury, but what a steal for the Chiefs.
