Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus 1-26-2026 Monday with Meltzer

Flyers Daily with Jason Myrtetus: A Monday with Meltzer episode as we look back at a week to remember with one of the most bizarre losses but over all 5 out of 6 standings points. Plus we look specifically at the progression of Owen Tippett, Matvei Michkov and Travis Konecny and how each have helped pull the team back in the right direction.

  1. WOO! What a game in CO. It was a great time to be in person and to hear all the Philly fans.

    Two things:
    1. The Colorado game was tied for the most goals the Avs gave up this season. The other game was against the Sabres.
    2. More ice time for Michkov = more scoring. He has also been playing more defensively.

  2. Hi J&B… I said after the 10th game that we're a 500 team and I'm saying it again today, not because of the 7 goals against the AVS… we fight as a team… well, the defense is sometimes a bit sloppy. (Otherwise we wouldn't need a 1D… Sam πŸ₯… is getting better and better too… I mean, the playoffs aren't far away, there's no question we can do it… we just sometimes lack the focus, the final consequence… and we damn well have to shoot at the goal from every angle!!! Jason and Bill, take care and thanks for your work! LET'S GO FLYERS πŸ’πŸ₯…

  3. Nice work Flyers . Sam played so big this trip . Congrats Sam .
    Nice bounce back Flyers .
Great cast as always boys .πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™
    LETS GO FLYERS !! !!!

  4. So with the CO’s commentators sound bite regarding Philly fans making too much sound after the empty netter; and that it’s not Philadelphia PA, is such a sour grapes πŸ‡ response. πŸ˜…πŸ˜…πŸ˜…

  5. Great week. Great bounce back win. I said it before but Briere has to go out and acquire a partner for Drysdale ASAP. A stay at home defenseman who can keep the slot clean and retrieve pucks. IMO, this will fix a lot of the teams problems. The defensive zone coverage (especially weak side) will improve. Our goalies will have to deal w less grade A shots and Drysdale could go back to pushing the puck up ice in transition, instead of battling large forwards behind our net.

Jamie has been real good. Finding him his "forever" (for now) partner would only make him better.

  6. What are you guys hoping the fans and commentators alike are talking about collectively right before the Olympic break?

One of the goalies on a hot streak?
One of the D men playing like a 1D?
    Power play producing goals?
On a winning streak against the best ?

Personally I’m hoping that collectively everyone realizes we’re 🀌🏼 close to the first round of the playoffs.

  7. Funny you mentioned Jay Greenberg. I'm currently reading his fantastic editorial in the "The Hockey News" Archives January 13, 1988 about the accessibility and humanness of Wayne Gretzky. Def something you should check out.
