2. Is this just Rooney's way of saying "I still want to pick one" while giving the next chairman the freedom to go get the guy he wants to work with for the next ~15-20 years?

3. It’s almost like they satisfied their own Rooney Rule laughingly so and hired Tomlin 2.0. Waiting on coordinators hired but this decision deserves all the criticism it gets

4. At first I was disappointed by the hire, but only after some time to think about it I started to really, really hate the decision.

7. Same old, same old BS. Art II is not Dan. He proves his incompetence more and more as time goes on.

8. I’m not surprised to hear that Rooney may not answer questions at the introduction press conference. Bert usually keeps the media in check anyway. This interview proves that Rooney has been the issue the entire time. Rooney hamstrung him with inadequate facilities, and money for coordinators. This is part of the “finger waving” you claim to not understand.

9. This is still a short sighted move with an old school coach and misses out on good new coach possibilities now because their stuck in there ways. Theres no guarantee there will be good new choices in 3-5years, another reason its short sighted. Nothing against McCarthy I think he'll be solid but nothing special.

This hire amost feels like Tomlin bringing in a group of veteran guys (Rodgers, Ramsey, Jonnu) who he always admired coaching against for what eveyone knew was going to be one of his last seasons at the helm of the Steelers. Is this Rooney tipping the cap to a coach whom he has always admired (and lost a Super Bowl to). Hopefully Mike McCarthy brings some excitement and change to the team and make up of the coaching staff.

DK I hope this gets a read..so a couple weeks ago i mentioned how the Steelers have missed several opportunities to fix bring in a capable qb , (Darnold was a FA ) and many others have been available whether it was draft FA they've had options and missed badly, Now idk what happened with guys like Darnold I'm sure money was big factor ,recent success of QBs and the lack of weapons to. Thats why I'm really starting to like this hire we have complained about offense for years. He has a strong history of good to great offense, and cant deny the years of work with HOF qbs . My biggest worry is the DC position, that's were it's going to matter the most imo, Lastly, I think the idea of Chris Shula was maybe a little to much , I was on the hype train , but the more you dig into that his guys had 9 games with 26 or more scored on them. 2 30 point games in the playoffs. The biggest issue with Pittsburgh is qb , I think they only had 1 real option if they wanted to get better at qb offense, Mike was probably the best pick .

13. I'm only listing to this cuz I been rocking with u for years now. I really enjoy u and Chris. I am officially done with this team. There is nothing left in me. I have TRIED AND TRIED year after year to give it the benefit of the doubt. When hope is lost. All is gone. Have a great day DK.

14. Mike became real buddy buddy with Omar and Andy many years ago. Another "let's hook up a homie with a job" scenario. Don't take my word for it. Look this information up.

15. You know what's funny about this hire? McCarthy knows how to assemble a staff and nobody cares! He beat us in our last sb.. give the guy a chance. That's the common sense in me 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

19. Funny thing about the “quick” hire was, Rooney said himself said they were going to take their time, and be thorough.

    I like McCarthy but, the Steelers really should’ve waited. Was there anyone else that wanted McCarthy?

This was a really stupid hire and Rooney isn't going to realize it until the first Steelers home game where no one shows up to the stadium to watch the game he never developed Arron Rodgers if you remember the draft Arron fell to like pick 28 because of attitude rumors mccarthy is old over rated and not worth watching thats why he was out of football last year cause he sucks (FIRED FROM DALLAS )THE YEAR BEFORE!!!!

21. DK it’s my belief & only mine. Hear’s what I think while he may be an offensive guy, he is going to reach into what is comfortable for him just like Art, Rooney has done. There is no way you can convince me that this higher it’s gonna bring new and innovative way of doing things. Mike McCarthy is comfortable and he’s going to be comfortable with how he sees the team going. He’s another one with BAD clock management and gain management from my understanding and that is not going to change. Art not caring what the fans think or feel is gonna be more detrimental to the team than what he realizes. DKwhen you talk about all of this in your voice sounds like how most people in the fan base feels.

    Tomlin left NOTHING. I can understand wanting someone that could re-establish a staff.
