Brad Holmes Appreciation Post

  1. I will be the first to appreciate him if he does what he’s supposed to do this FA and draft

  2. I thought there would be…ya know…an Appreciation Post? You just posted a picture with no link or opinion?

  3. I mean, he gets props for nailing a draft 3 years ago. Been up and down with his overall picks outside of that.

Let’s see if he’s learned anything and is willing to change his ways of thinking before glazing him again.

  4. Dude grew to arrogant… im glad this season gave both dan and him a slice of humble pie. Hopefully this was the turning point for a true dynasty to form.

Brad has the ability , just lose the ego.

DC has the ability just lose the ego and kick the FG.

  5. Despite some of the errors he’s made there’s reasons why Brad is ranked as a top 10 GM consistently year to year from many NFL executives and polls around the league.

A lot of bad organizations would love to have him. He’s done an amazing job in the turnaround of the Detroit Lions and done it in a short amount of time. The only thing that’s been hurting him is most of his 2nd round picks like Rakstraw who’s hardly ever available and trusting Davenport who everyone knew wasn’t the answer. Davenport was never going to be Hutch’s partner in crime.

Brad takes chances on injury prone guys and project players hoping they will turn into something good but the Lions need more guys that can make an immediate impact day 1. The only thing preventing the Lions from winning a Superbowl are literally injuries and staying healthy. We drafted guys like Levi and Pascal to stop the run and on paper are problems for opposing offensive lines, but problem is they hadn’t been healthy enough to see the field much and we still don’t know what Rakstraw can do.

The Lions most likely would had already won a Superbowl by now if everything went their way and they can stay healthy with a little bit of luck. Overall Brad is without a doubt the best GM the Lions have had since the 1950’s and are in better position as an organization than half in the NFL. At least we ain’t as dysfunctional anymore as the Jets, Browns, or Raiders to name a few.

  6. Why? Cuz the rams lost? Jfc ppl raise your expectations, zero reason to be sitting back “appreciating” BH now after a failure of a season and an upcoming draft and FA period that are extremely important. Appreciate him when we get back to where we’re supposed to be

  7. Finally, Brad Holmes gets some glazing attention in this sub. It’s taken forever, but we’ve finally arrived.

  8. He had three great offseasons followed by two near disastrous ones. Jury is out on him imho. Once he stopped having a bunch of extra first and second round picks he has become very pedestrian as a GM. This offseason is make or break for him. He screws it up again he should be gone.

  9. He’s been living off the laurels of one trade and basically one draft 3 years ago. I believe he can do it again but it needs to be now

  10. Brad failed in the 2024 draft.

Other than that, this guy is a legend. The best GM in franchise history. I’ll take him over anybody rn.

Cheers to the BH & DC era.

  11. He’s been lazy. Feels like an absent parent or teacher. He is barely involved other than signing the long term deals and practice squad players. He needs to HELP us in FA and go out and draft POSITIONS that we need instead of disregarding our weak spots.

I liked his mentality in the draft at first but Im starting to realize how high risk, high reward that strategy is.
