McDaniel’s to the Chargers is now official. He is off the board for coaching options

Klint Kubiak or Davis Webb as Silver & Black HC✔️ Bills considering both too.
No worries, I don’t think Mcdaniel is cut out to be a Head Coach he doesn’t command a room. Great Coordinator but not losing sleep over not getting him at HC. Kubiak is clearly #1 target & Lafleur, Webb, Scheelhaase all still available. Raiders will be fine
The way things have gone historically. Klint will go to the bills and we get webb. We are the last ones at the dance everytime
He probably got word who Raiders want/ will finalize an ‘expected agreement’ with.
That’s probably his best role.
I found it odd that they kept referring to McDaniel as the chargers OC while he was still interviewing for HC jobs. I just assumed that he would be referred to as the dolphins former HC. Are you allowed to sign a contract and actively pursue other positions? Was he the official OC for like a day on paper while he pursued other jobs ?? The Chargers allow that ?
It’s like picking teams in middle school, I always end up with the worst player.
He ran an undisciplined, unaccountable locker room in Miami. He’s an offensive mastermind, but the lack of focus on the Dolphins is not the kind of tendency the Raiders need. We’re trying to undo plenty of that mindset from Pete and his parking lot carnival ride antics.
I’d want him as a coordinator too but probably not a coach. The remaining options are rapidly dwindling and I’m a little concerned about who we will end up with

I hope we get some news about us meeting with other candidates, like Klint, soon. Because the pickings have gotten slim.
It’s better for him. The guy was in over his head as a head coach, and needs more coordinator seasoning.
It isn’t about how the Raiders lost out on a HC candidate, it’s the arguably the single most innovative OC just went to a division rival, who had a terrible offensive year due to a bad OC and extreme OL injuries and still won 11 games. They me be the #1 offense in the league next year.

This makes me more confident we have our sights set on Kubiak. If Seattle lost, Kubiak’s decision would be made quickly and there’s a chance we’d pivot to McDaniel if Kubiak went to Buffalo. Now that they’re in the Super Bowl, we’re waiting 2 more weeks for Kubiak. I don’t think McDaniel wanted to wait that long. Now we just have to hope Buffalo isn’t willing to wait either.

Let’s just hope Brady already has the next head coach locked in and we are just waiting for the available time to hire him because the pool is getting smaller and smaller.

Doesn’t actually matter. Teams can’t stop coordinators from being promoted to a higher position. If we wanted him as HC he’s still available as HC.
