When we had killer special teams. Those were the days my friends.

  1. Two things always blow my mind about this play. The Patriots kicker was Adam Vinatieri. And this was Desmond Howard’s only touchdown on a kickoff return.

  2. The #1 special teams in the NFL is actually valuable? Wow! Maybe our current leadership should be reminded of this?

  3. Kind of a funny fact, this is actually the only kick return for a touchdown Howard had in his NFL career. He ran 9 punts back for touchdowns, but only one kickoff.

  4. 29 years ago and remember it like it was yesterday…

Back in Central Wisco, college roommates all around, cheap beer and a tiny TV and it was glorious.

  5. I can’t believe neither of these teams would ever meet in the Super Bowl again. So many AFC and NFC championships on both ends

  6. The best thing Brett Favre did in this game was not throw an interception at the end because this Howard score was the only points the Packers produced in the 2nd half.  In the 2nd half Favre had about a 50 passer rating, taking a couple sacks.

  7. Such an elite team we had. The following year is when my hatred towards the broncos started 🤣

  8. I’m pretty sure we were #1 in all aspects and I was still worried we would of lost

  9. Something isn’t quite right with this clip. The packers had 27 before the Desmond Howard play, then a PAT is shown, and then we ended with 35 points. That PAT clip is wrong—pack did a 2 pointer to Chmura.

  10. I do not remember this because I was one day old. I have, however, heard many stories about how my dad had to watch the game on mute in the hospital room, and he was holding me when this play happened, so he couldn’t jump up and cheer at all.
