Robert Kraft honored Shelly by gifting her play off and super bowl tickets. She was a former NICU nurse and she fostered over 20 kids (adopted 5 of them) with her wife. I’m absolutely devastated she wasn’t able to make it to the game, especially since the Patriots will be playing. Seeing as the AFC Championship game was yesterday, she likely passed not knowing they were going to the super bowl. Rest in peace, Shelly. 💗

  1. Reminds me of Sam Berns, a teen Pats fan who had progeria (rapid aging). He died the night before he was scheduled to be an honorary captain for a playoff game in 2014. 🙁

My condolences to her loved ones, and again, fuck cancer.

  2. Lost My Aunt who was a Super Fan of the Pats way before Brady. I like to think my Aunt and Shelly have the best seats in the house now rooting for a team that brought them happiness.

  3. Well, that fucking sucks. I fucking hate cancer. Shit runs in my family. I could have it at any point in my life and that’s terrifying. I hate it so much. We desperately find the cure so no more people have to suffer shit man that’s a bummer. Rip

  4. My mother just passed away from gallbladder cancer on December 28th. I was able to tell her on 12/21 that we were going back to the playoffs after the Ravens game.

The Super Bowl is on her birthday this year, February 8th.

We live on Long Island, she only made it to one game with me…but it’s a great memory: in 2007, when we blew out Washington 52-7. On the long drive back, we listened to her beloved Red Sox win the World Series.

Really hoping they can win this Super Bowl for my mom and Shelly.
