Should be a fine at most. It was a hockey play. Guy was wide open infront of the net in the dying seconds with the puck coming to him and Rust charges in to disrupt. The fact Rickell hits him forward into Rust as hes rushing in is unfortunate. If this results with a suspension with the amount of shit ive seen end up as fines this year, the league is a joke.
He may very well get suspended.
Blindside, lifted the shoulder right into the chin as principal point of contact, got a 2 min for illegal check to the head at the buzzer.
This screams 1-2 games based on precedent if you arent a Florida Panther.
First time offender with no history this probably will just be a fine.
What I ask is if it happens to one of our guys what would I want. Definitely at least a game. I know rust didn’t mean it but you just can’t chicken wing like that anymore

I don’t see supplemental for something like this. If you don’t want that smoke, don’t be there at the end of the game.

It is a reckless play by Rust but Parros’ standard is that if you can possibly construct a semi-plausible explanation for why the hit was not done with malicious intent he is not going to suspend you.
I’m guessing $5,000 fine.

Hey boys, I forget, is there some rule about there being an automatic one game suspension if the hearing is in person?
It was an unfortunate sequence. Rak hit Boeser from behind as Rust was skating by. Rust had his elbow up likely to try and shield bodies away.
Boeser most likely got a concussion from headbutting Sid in his balls of steel
As a Leafs fan who has both Rust and Rakell in fantasy, I can safely say he’s getting a game from this Department of Panther’s Safety, especially since he has a clean record and they scheduled an in-person hearing instead of just deploying the fine and Campbell loves that it disadvantages a team in the East. So $5K and a 1-3 game suspension.
I don’t think it’ll get a suspension, but I want it to be.
I feel like I’ve seen the Panthers do this without any punishment several times in the last few years and I want it to be out of the game.
If Bryan Rust has to go down for a game or two to set the standard, it will be worth it.
