We should say he can go, and then an hour before the meeting say “sorry, he’s actually injured”.
Didn’t he just come out and say he wants to stay with the bears this year?
i think what’s best for his career is to sit out under ben for one more year. He’s still so young he will have endless opportunities down the line
Interviews with Eagles and Ravens… those are good teams. Good for him! Stay and run it back!
He won’t go. This just proves his stock will keep going up barring something crazy happening with Ben Johnson. If I’m him I’m sticking around a year or two more and leaving only for a good HC position.
It was just reported today that Doyle withdrew his name from the Philly job and stated he’ll remain with Chicago for 2026. Apparently Philly was preparing to call him back for a second interview. Per Jeremy Fowler, they were impressed by him and said he’ll probably be someone to watch for an HC gig next cycle. I wonder if that was before or after Bal. put in that request.
TIL that Declan Doyle was our offensive coordinator
I always thought having an offensive minded HC would lead to more stability at the OC position, but I didn’t consider how much not having play calling duties gives an OC a ton of opportunity for a “promotion” elsewhere.
If Ben and Caleb keep it rolling we’re going to have trouble keeping an OC for more than a year or two. Fortunately Ben is still the mastermind here, but it would be nice to get some continuity with all these good coaches we have
He is good on the podium so I can imagine that he interviews well. If I were in his position I would accept whatever interviews teams offered but ride the BJ wave for a few years for the experience and hopefully resume bumps
Thought he pulled his name from contention already earlier today
Crazy that good teams are looking to the bears for an offensive mind.
