  1. I’m a little worried about him playing at a heavier weight–it’s true he can add stuff to his game, but it will come at some cost and I loved his game so much prior to the injury.

But I’m just a bit of a worry wort for my favorite players coming back from catastrophic injuries, there’s no way to know how things will look the next few years for him.

  2. If Hali put on weight to bang in the paint or god forbid start merchanting like the rest of the good PGs in the league it’s over 👀

  3. I remember when Jermaine O’ Neal bulked up, he definitely lost his athleticism a bit, but he dominated in other ways. I imagine some weight will fall off once he gets back in game-shape like he said, but I’m sure the trainers will have a strategic plan to avoid wear and tear injuries while at the same time letting him keep his new strength.

  4. Splitting the difference, if he adds like 10-15lbs of muscle and feels stronger and more able to absorb contact, then it makes sense to try to get to the line more. My worry is the game becomes ugly to watch bc he’s on the line too much.

  5. Yeah, he’s def added some muscle now. Hopefully he adds a little Nemby-shoulder-check to his game.

  6. 1000% changes have to be made. Look at how KD’s game evolved post injury, go watch how Ninque’s game changed due to the injury. And then go look at Kobe how tried to do the same thing again.

  7. He’ll need the extra muscle moreso in his first year back. He will lose a step and not be able to blow by defenders as easily. Long term the muscle is also a healthy thing for him, but when he gets that first step speed back… he’ll be cooking!
