  1. Ace is the definition of a ‘Rising Star’ right now. Ever since Lauri went out, and Ace has consistently been playing starter minutes (high-20s, 30+), he has been really great- especially in scoring, but also with playing within the scheme, and consistently getting a big hand in the shooter’s face on defense.

Ace is definitely playing better than- at minimum- Egor Demin, but it’s all subjective anyway. I feel like this is a snub where when Ace Bailey becomes really great in a couple years, we’ll look back and say, “wow- I can’t believe that Ace was snubbed from that game in favor of guys like Egor, Murray-Boyles, and others, when Ace was just starting to heat up.”

Whatever. It sucks for us and for him, but it’s all subjective anyway, and I’m sure that he’ll prove the voters wrong in short succession.

  2. I’m not upset about the pick yet, but I think I’m going to have to agree with Ace Bailey not being among the 10 best/most impactful rookies. Most of these players have real arguments that would put them above him. He is not bad, but he is also not doing anything that pops either. Until the last week he hadn’t had any games of note. Then recognize that the league is probably mad about the tanking and I can see that they would be happy to pick the others over Ace.

  3. There are so many good rookies this year. Brooklyn has so many rookies that the committee must have favored that and Edgar Djomen may have had some clutch shots. Ace deserves it and maybe it motivates him more.
