College ball-knowers – if it came down to it, which one of these 3 mock draft predictions would you pick?

  1. If Kenyon Sadiq somehow falls to 27 and we don’t take him, the FO should be fired for malpractice lmao. No way he’s falling that far though.

  2. I wouldn’t consider myself too much of a college ball knower, but I know taking Sadiq is certainly an interesting choice considering Tonges looked more than serviceable in his time this year.

People seem to be using the George Kittle injury as a means to find somewhere to place Sadiq. I don’t see it at all.

I’d personally rather take Lomu, because it is a deep WR class and we should be able to get a good player at the end of Rd 2

  3. depends on who is the least injury prone and maybe let’s get someone who isn’t injured during the draft as well? why don’t we get the best player at each round rather than trying to pick a WR when an OT or even a QB can be much better

  4. I’m a Utah fan so I’m biased but I’d love if we could take Lomu. Both him and Fano were incredible for us

  5. I’m an Oregonian and a lifelong Ducks fan. It would be irresponsible to draft a first round TE especially with how deep the TE class is this year. I’d talk myself into it but it should be Lomu even if he’s a guard

  6. Lomu should be the choice. Conception is the most probable he’s a shanny style player. Not a true 1 but a yac guy and Sadiq isn’t falling.

  7. Best player available, full stop. Stop with this needs based drafting. Needs can be the tie breaker, but they need additional players that can be their new core, kind of regardless of position. I would generally be happy with any of those 3 picks depending on what they don in FA.

  8. Any of those would be great, I personally feel best about Sadiq, but he is also maybe the most “luxury pick” of the three. Don’t have a pressing need at TE relative to other positions

  9. Sadiq is a very flashy pick and rightfully so, but let’s not forget Shanahan’s offense is very hard for rookie TEs to grasp. The blocking scheme is complex and as good as a blocker Sadiq was in college, NFL is a different beast. I can’t justify spending a 1st rounder on someone who is likely not going to be a day 1 contributor.

I’d prefer we go hard after Kyle Pitts in FA knowing he has the experience at this level to replicate Kittle production now and into the future. If we can’t land him, swing for a JJettas trade or go after Alec Pierce and hope to make up for Kittle with Tonges/cheaper TEs until Kittle’s back to 100%.

Either way as Kyle said after the Seahawks loss, we need speed—our team is older and slower than ever before, window is closing, and we have to catch up basically this year or we’re likely looking at a soft rebuild.

  10. Sadiq would be sweet, but idk if its the wisest pick. I will defer to the coach, scouts, and GM.

  11. Sadiq 100% closest thing to a Kittle replacement we have seen in years. the dude is a beast. adding him would open the playbook in a lot of ways IMHO.

  12. Imagine having a top 3 OL and a replacement for Trent in 2027 already locked in and learning from him/subbing for him for an entire season 🙂

  13. I’m usually of the opinion that if a draft is weak at QB, its probably weak at the rest of the offensive positions. So I would trade the pick if I only had these 3 as an option. If we pick one of them, we’re going to look at this in 5 years, wonder why we’ve moved on from another first round pick when Lee Hunter and Kayden McDonald are making their 2nd or 3rd all-pro team and were still on the board.

  14. Regardless of what position they draft in the first round not everyone’s going to be happy. I think WR1 is what they need most right now, but if the past years showed us anything they’re going to draft the best player they think is available regardless of their position they play. As long as it’s not a RB or LB I’ll call it a win

  15. Lomu would be my pick. We need a wr1, but KC size seems small. I rather we get a bigger wr. Denzel Boston would be the dream., I also like Chris Bell, but he is projected an early-mid 2nd rounder (and yes he has a tore acl before so he fits with us 49IRS, lol), so I’m not sure if we want to reach. Sadiq would be interesting if Kyle runs more 2 TE sets.

  16. Against the Seahawks our offense was down to Purdy, CMC, and JJ. We need more offensive weapons. And I think the FO and Shanny believe they can create a better O-line from committee than they can receiving corps from committee.

  17. I think the Niners will go very late on a TE if he’s drafted at All, I don’t pay a lot of attention to the guys stocks to much. Chamon Metayer, big body 6’4 230 frame that could easily fill to around 240-250, puts his hand in the dirt and blocks his ass off. Ability as a pass catcher leaves something to be desired. Would fit this team very well otherwise. Played a big role in the season Cam Skattebo had at ASU the season prior

  18. The TE, Kittles is out for 90 of the season. Sadiq would thrive in Kyle’s system if he’s a decent blocker

  19. I think Purdy proved he can do a lot with with non-elite talent around him as long as he has time to go through his progressions. Give him a better OL already!

  20. When the time comes for Trent to retire, I can see a free agent tackle being added. The front office has shown that they will draft defensive lineman and skill position players in the first round. I can see Conception, best dlineman available at 27 or move up for a player they love

  21. If all 3 are there, Lomu is probably the choice because he’ll make the outside zone clear for the next decade. Sadiq would be a mismatch nightmare under Kyle and continue the TE lineage very well. Not as fast as Davis, but he’d look & produce the same. Concepcion would be fun, but no way Kyle goes WR in the 1st again.

  22. Conception actually so good like his yac and speed is so good might be a very good pick

  23. It really depends who we get in free agency. We could possibly get K. Pitts and therefore not need this TE. But it really depends on who we get.

  24. Bit of a homer pick as an Aggie but Concepcion is a game breaking player, and we need a WR that can separate

  25. Maybe I’m in the minority here but Kenyon Sadiq feels like such a Shanahan weapon. He’s got size and speed, we could really get back to our YAC roots. If we don’t go after Kyle Pitts, this seems like a great play. Offense needs speed.

However, Lomu seems like the smarter pick for sure.

  26. Lomu if I’m picking. Purdy needs to be protected. The Niners need to rebuild that O-line.

  27. We do not have a great track record for drafting wide receivers who stay healthy. Draft Lomu

  28. Id probably go Sadiq, Lomu, Concepcion in that order.

I think Sadiq is a better prospect than the other two even if the need isn’t that high. Than id just take need of Lomu over Concepcion as similar level prospects
