Is it crazy to say that I hope Queen can model his game after Zbo? They’re the same height as well.

A walking double double with hopefully better play making in the future could be really nice imo.

He can model some post moves and stuff but queens playmaking ability is vastly superior already so I think they’re wildly different players
I mean a little bit, yeah
Z Bo would struggle to start in the modern NBA cause his archetype is largely dead today.
Some of his post moves will always have value, so in that respect, sure, it’d be nice to have them in Queen’s bag
Queen’s hook for being an undersized center that isn’t super switchable is that he can (hopefully) develop into a Jokic-like three level scorer that organizes and facilitates your offense. A guy that at a minimum is giving you like 18-10-10 most nights.
That is good enough as a team defender to not get played off the floor in the playoffs and that we can find a sort of rim protecting 3 and D switchable big to pair with him.
Cousins make more sense as comparision?
Queen is a way better passer than Zach ever was. Zach was a black hole on offense.
I mean Zbo had like a 17 year career so you can’t be mad about modeling at least some of his game after a guy that had that sort of success. However, honestly that’d be a little limiting to Queen because he’s a much better passer than Zbo.
The hardest thing for Queen is we have to find someone that can play along side him that can guard centers. It’s why the Jokic comparison doesn’t really work because Jokic is a full on center so you just need a 4 that can stretch the court to play along side him. Ideally Queen would play the 4 and we’d have a 5 that can stretch the court while boding up opposing centers.
Like, give me KAT and I think a front court of KAT and Queen would be crazy good on offense. It’d probably be easier on Queen defensively to be asked to guard PFs than Cs too.
Not a Pels fan, but was a big fan of Queen as a prospect. I’m a Raptors fan and I was defending him a lot as one of the best targets for us.
Based on his college tape, I saw the best version of Julius Randle (but more consistent) as the closest comparison stylistically as to who Queen can model his game after in regards to ceiling, and in his prime that’s a great player to have
Imagine giving up all that draft capital for Zbo lol. Jesus this team is a disaster
