I’m sure this new strict penalty against a headshot will be adhered to strictly in the future and this will set a new standard for George Parros strongly declaring that headshots are not acceptable in the NHL.
This hasn’t been applied evenly to this point
I really hate how these things are handled. Players know they have 0 punishment for doing shit like this in the final 30s. The refs want to go home and won’t stop the clock and look at it. Teams won’t see each other until next year so there’s no retaliation. The injured player is out for months and the offending player gets one week off.
Now do Jones and Marchand
So the ridly greig hit on Raymond was fine?
Rust gets traded to the Panthers and this suspension is suddenly a 5k fine.
So now we’re going to officiate headshots properly, right? The referees and DOPS will decide this on an even scale for all players, right?

3 games is extremely excessive IMO.
