  1. Absolute clowns at the department of safety.

If that is worth a suspension, serial offender Marchand needed 20 games for his very deliberate elbow on Matheson.

NHL not even trying to hide the corruption.

  2. Absolute studs at the department of safety.

This is clearly a dirty hit. Intentional or not, it is still an illegal head shot. Thank you for getting it right for the safety of the players and for the bone head players not being cautious of the health and safety of other players.

If anything, to be honest, Rust should have gotten 5 games. But I am satisfied with 3.

  3. Trouba, a repeat headshot offender, has never received a suspension as long as the one Rust just received. What are we even doing at this point? George Parros sucks at his job.

  4. People saying thos didnt deserve suspension i hope you joking. You clearly see rust charging toward boeser lifting his elbow right in the face. We can CLEARLY see he target the head and even if not this is as dirty as it can get. YeS BuT ThEn MaRChaNd deserve 20 games…not because another player didnt have a suspension that no one else should. Should marchand been susoended for 5-10 games for then hit on matheson yes. But Rust is lucky to just get 3 games

  5. You could argue rust was going in for a shot at chest and shoulder but Boesser moved, then rust was sort of flailing to make contact. I have no problem with this, the problem is with inconsistency as many others have pointed out. Particularly how it relates to guys on a certain team in Florida.

  6. If these suspension decisions were made equally to all players who make such hits, Tom Wilson would have been suspended approximately 10,000 games ten years ago.

  7. One maybe I see it was dangerous he should have avoided it at least just keep the elbow down for it being the first time he has ever had a hearing I feel like 3 games is to much

  8. Meh. I don't think it was intentional. At that angle, hitting the chin clean like that is almost flukey. Does not matter though. it was a blow directly to the head that caused injury, and it was 100% avoidable by Rust.

  9. as a Canucks fan, that shouldnt be a 3 game suspension, if they just gave him a 1 game suspension we probably wouldnt be talking about this

  10. Rust wasn’t even looking at the time of contact he was aiming for the shoulder and the player moved, this is a stupid enforcement

  11. We just want consistency! 3 games for this kind of illegal hit is fine, but if you're going to suspend someone for this, you have to suspend guys like Marchand for a solid 10 games for the elbow on Matheson.

  12. Sorry Boeser got hurt but that was not targeted hit. He turned as Rust was about to check him. 1 game for a player with no prior history. Meanwhile repeat offenders get less.

  13. Why does this video keep cutting away from the actual hit, if they're trying to prove that it deserves 3 games? Or at least show an angle from the right of the hit itself.
I hope Boeser is recovers quickly. The whiplash of the hit followed by Rakell's push is what concerns me the most.

  14. There should be a video on William Nylander's fine!

    Key points:

    -Illegal gesture to the head

    -Gesture was avoidable

-No one got injured from the gesture

-Nylander has never been suspended/fined before the incident

The department of player safety has fined William Nylander for $5k.

  15. Terrible ruling! You have numerous habitual offenders in the league, who are known head hunters, who don't get this type of treatment. Given Rust's squeaky clean history, this is an unacceptable punishment.

  16. I 100% could see a 1 game suspension from what seems to be accidental head contact/wanton chicken winging, but 3 feels like wayyy too much, especially since other teams seem to get away with far more blatant Chicken Winging against us, a certain Jacob Trouba playoff game comes to mind

  17. I gotta laugh that the clown in charge of department of player safety was a useless goon in the league and for someone as educated as him he clearly shows he cannot make the right decisions. Hence being a good when you know fighting and hits are high risk of brain damage yet he played the role anyways. NHL is becoming a 💩 league with that clown representing them. 1 game at best brother. No diff than a guy knowing there’s a hit coming and he turns his back on the player so contact is illegal.

  18. Sorry, got this wrong but not surprised. Boeser turns at the last second. So, instead of hitting his shoulder he catches his head. I am against intentional head shots, but this isn't 1. I do believe Rusty should get a game, but 3 is absurd given his history or lack there of. Anyone that is surprised with their analysis… shame on you for 6 weeks! Let's go Pens.

  19. 3 GAMES?! I'm not saying he shouldn't have been suspended. But you just gave a man with zero history of problems a 3 game suspension on a play where it was clearly not intentional. Boeser stepped back the moment Rust was trying to put it in hist chest. The NHL Wheel of Discipline has been spun, Rust lost.

  20. Meanwhile, Boeser, whose feet were stationary, will likely be out far longer than 3 games, but it's unfair for Rust? It's about time we get stronger on head shots from "Player Safety".

  21. Definitely a hit to the head, but my God the Department of Player Safety is inconsistent. You'll see repeat offenders get a slap on the wrist. But a guy thats been in the league for 10 years and never had any suspensions gets 3 games.
