2. I hope they keep him. Nothing wrong with having depth at starting pitching. What is Ponce or Yesavage shit the bed?

4. He's a great #3, #4 guy. The Jays have so much pitching depth. Injuries and 162 games is a LONG season. Keep 'em (unless we can get a Mason Miller back to solidify) the closer role!

    If Berrios is consistent at something as a jay, it's having a good year after a bad one.

    Gausman and Yesavage pitched into November. That likely won't be ignored early, especially for Gausman.

    Beiber and Yesavage may need inning monitoring as well; if Beiber is even ready?

    Like you guys; I'm high on Cease and Ponce, but at best we can hope for is that both will fall somewhere in between their 2025 performances. 3.50ish.
    I'm very intrigued by Ponce coming out of the bullpen in a do or die. We used all 5 starters in game 7. He and Cease make that prospect more intriguing.

16. I would use Jose Berrios as an opener coming out of the pen, if a solid return via trade is not doable.

17. The rift goes back to the early yank in the playoffs. There is definitely a spot for a guy in the high 3s in the rotation.

    Also Atkins talks like a politician. Wouldn’t trust everything he says.

19. Having 6 starters isnt a "land of luxery" is literal necessity at the very least.
    In what world are Gausman and Beiber staying healthy, plus Savage has a full season..Plus Berrios who nobody even knows whats up with him..Ponce is a complete wild card..
    Im not overly secure with this rotation frankly. But I doubt many teams are. Could be much worse, for sure.

20. There’s no harm to keeping him until the trade deadline at least, and a lot of downside from a preemptive trade. What happens when one of those new pitchers is having issues getting settled if you have already dealt Barrios? Wait, his value will rise and they can judge their need for him better in a few months.

30. Yea it'd be pretty silly to trade him unless you get another trustworthy starting pitcher or closer back. As someone else said pitchers dont always pan out in the season so depth is good to have

31. It’s actually not complicated. You would have to pick up most of his remaining three years of salary to trade him so you might as well keep him for depth.
